App Recap: 12 apps to get your weekend started

Yesterday was such a busy day on the App Store, that many of the new app and game releases have poured over into today’s edition of App Recap. In this roundup, we highlight an interesting new platform game called Flurf alongside over a half dozen other noteworthy games for iPhone and iPad. App Recap covers the most important developments on the App Store, including new, updated and discounted apps. We’ve got a dozen apps to get your weekend started ahead… 

New Apps

Flurf is a very challenging side-scrolling endless platformer game where you tap the screen to jump from treetop to treetop. Try to get the highest score possible, and compete with your friends through Game Center. Gem packs and upgrades like double jumping and immunity are available as in-app purchases from the store. Flurf is 99 cents for iPhone and iPad.

Bricks Icon

Bricks is a game that puts your reaction skills to the test. The objective is to rotate your iPhone or iPad by 360 degrees to knock out all the bricks on each level and reach the top of the leaderboards. The game has arcade style gameplay and a minimalistic design, alongside both iCloud and Game Center support. Bricks is 99 cents on the App Store.

Boom 909

Boom 909 is an essential app for the modern mobile producer’s workflow. It makes it easy to get classic 909 drum sounds into new songs, featuring CoreMIDI, audiobus compatibility, background audio, audio exporting options, high fidelity audio, a step sequencer, compressor, swing, overdrive and more. Boom 909 is 99 cents on the App Store for iPad.

Sago Mini Space Explorer

Sago Mini Space Explorer is a new kids game that blasts you into the space with Harvey the dog. While you’re out there, travel in a flying saucer as you play among the stars and planets. Kids can make alien friends, meet the loveable hug-bot or even have an interstellar picnic. Sago Mini Space Explorer is $2.99 on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Biosis

BIOSIS is a new adventure game based on a little creature that travels through challenging levels to save its happiness and love. The game consists of 3 chapters and 60 unique levels, with a pro mode that is even more difficult to complete. If you are looking to join a world of emotional adventures, BIOSIS is $1.99 on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Darkin

Darkin is one of those new games that deserved a mention a few days ago, but got overshadowed by several other noteworthy app releases. The objective of the game is to link three or more tiles together, as you join the fight against vampire hordes in this puzzle-roleplaying duo. Darkin will set you back $2.99 on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Updated Apps

ACR Drift

ACR Drift, the top-ranked racing game in 88 countries, has been updated with an all-new multiplayer mode, longer lasting nitro, improved camera work, increased racing speeds, daily races, login bonuses, in-game credits, bug fixes and more. Nissan car models are also now available. ACR Drift is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Instagram

We previously told you about an update to Instagram that removes the sharing of likes and activity to Facebook. Instagram users can still manually share their photos and videos by tapping the in-app button for Facebook, but automatic posting of likes and activity will no longer occur. Instagram, now at version 5.0.11, is free on the App Store.

Clash of Clans

As mentioned by iDownloadBlog reader Ryan, Clash of Clans has been updated with a new war base layout, war base edit mode, an all-new war stats tab, improved clan war clan info pages, the ability to dismiss donated troops from your war base clan castle, improved war notifications, Russian language localization and more. The game is free for iPhone and iPad.

On Sale Apps

Bonsai Slice

Join Multus the Robot in Bonsai Slice, an addictive game that turns your iPhone into a sword. Learn how to slice your way through donuts, coins, televisions and more, while becoming a master at avoiding the bombs. Play single player or against your friends online. Bonsai Slice is free for iPhone and iPad, discounted from its regular $2.99 price.

1 Second Everyday

Imagine a movie that includes every day of the rest of your life. That’s the tagline behind 1 Second Everyday, a video diary app that has been slashed from 99 cents to free for a limited time. The app records one second of video each day of your life, and you can setup friendly reminders so you don’t forget. 1 Second Everyday is free on the App Store for iPhone.

Quick Math

Quick Math+ helps make math challenges fun, with a focus on self improvement and the development of mental arithmetic skills. Race the clock, improve your score and unlock exciting new avatars all while solving math problems. The app is designed for students in fifth to eighth grade. Quick Math+ is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

      There is already a tweak by AiKoNe in the cloud, but it’s missing 2 more values. “+(BOOL) isJailbroken” set to false and “-(bool) checkJailbrokenDevice” false as well.
