Priority Hub

Looking for a better way to sort your Lock screen notifications on iOS 7? Then try out Priority Hub, a new Blackberry 10 inspired jailbreak tweak that just landed on Cydia’s BigBoss repo.

Priority Hub allows users to group Lock screen notifications by app, allowing one to easily see notifications pertaining to a single app at a time. It’s a great way to simplify the iOS 7 Lock screen and make it easier to read at a glance.

We’ve taken Priority Hub for a test drive via our hands-on video walkthrough. Check past the jump for the full scoop.

Once you install Priority Hub, you’ll find a new preference panel located in the stock Settings app. Inside of Priority Hub’s preferences, you’ll spot two options—show numbers, and icon location. The show numbers toggle allows you to display a tally of all of notifications for each app right on the Lock screen. The icon location panel allows you to move the app icons associated with the notifications to the top or bottom of the Lock screen.

Priority Hub Settings

Priority Hub is a very simple tweak, but it makes Lock screen notifications much easier to manage if you tend to receive a lot of them. For each app associated with a notification, you’ll see an app icon located on your Lock screen. Every notification pertaining to that app can be accessed by tapping on the app icon.

You can hide or switch between notifications by tapping on an app icon. You can clear all notifications associated with a specific app by using a pull down gesture. Using Priority Hub is intuitive and sensible; it’s well thought-out and genuinely useful.

If you’d like to try Priority Hub, you can do so right now via Cydia’s BigBoss repo. This tweak is certainly worth at least $0.99, but the developer, Thomas Finch, decided to make it available free of charge as a nice gesture to the community. What do you think about Priority Hub? Sound off down below.

  • Matthew Cooper

Be better if the notifications were closed by default and showed the icon and count. Then u could click the notifications u want to see at that time.

    • d3aux

I was thinking the exact same thing

      • ✌️

That’s be perfect , somebody tell the Dev.

      • Akw6190

This is literally exactly how it works

    • Sean Keenan

For some reason,I receive my notifications the way you discribed

    • Damian

thats how it works right now.

      • Matthew Cooper

Was it updated? Cause my notifications were open always until i closed them

  • Tul Kasetrsuwan

Thank you, Thomas Finch, for making it free!

  • Luism27

    great tweak!

  • Al

    Reminds me of Abstergo.

    • Nirvana

Abstergo did the notification scheduling but there was no icons for particular apps like this! Abstergo is better in most cases!

  • Dan

Looks nice, I’d use it if I didn’t already have Intelliscreen

    • How’s your battery I purchased it but battery was draining and couldn’t messages + off.

      • Dan

Battery for me is fine. iPhone 5S drains faster than my old android phone though. I haven’t noticed a battery difference with Intelliscreen. It was crashing my phone a while back but it stopped.

      • dnice

theyve made intelliscreen not included with messages+ in the newest version

  • Sean Keenan

really nice tweak, and its free win win to me 🙂

  • Smeltn

I like it. Definitely helps clean up your lock screen notifications

  • Sachmach29

Looks very similar to Convergance notifications!

    • Dom

It is. Convergance has a similar notification panel built into it. Also for those of you who use Convergance and priority hub together you may encounter springboard issues and crashes. Use one or the other not both at the same time.

  • This is a BB 10 feature? Been using it in LockInfo 5…

    • deepdvd

You’re still on iOS6 ? (Not that you have a choice now)

      • Forever rocking iOS 6 for the rest of my iPhone days. iOS 7 is now lazy-fugly-flat and repelling as Windows Phone (the factor that kept me from considering a Windows Phone) and there’s no option to get rid of it system wide. Only Android offers that, and that’s what will be running on my next phone (the GS5)…

Haven’t had any reason to move from a freed iPhone 4s to 5s, and iOS 7 just gave me more reasons not to.

      • deepdvd

saurik also refused to upgrade… which I find ironic, since a primary point of jailbreaking is so you can modify it how you want. You and Jay Freeman could be twins separated at birth =]

      • Haha, he refused to install iOS 7 mostly due to Safari, I refuse to upgrade mostly due to the change in system-wide UI. Both of these could have been fixed with options, but Apple is too proud of itself; thinking customers pay Apple to make decisions for them…

      • deepdvd

        Exactly.

      • Damian

saurik probably owns bunch of different iPhones for different uses.

      • Straightshoota

Why not get the htc m8 it has been luring me to the dark side?

      • Thanks for the suggestion, but I’ve done my research. Being a jailbreaker who really likes tweaking their device (4s), most of what I jailbreak for seems readily available in the stock Touch Wiz. After a quick rooting, I can easily remove the apps I don’t want.

      • Straightshoota

Thanks. Wasn’t a suggestion as much as wondering why s5? Htc has design and build quality IMO and s5 not as much. I guess I thought an android is an android if it’s not the pure stock it’s rooted to get there anyway. Also htc usually offers a stock android version of device. Admittedly I do like the note 3 software UI for some features and standouts to other devices from samesung.

Nothing can beat the build of 4S on a Jailbroken iOS6, the last real iPhone. There is at least another one in the wild. Only if it had 1GB memory…

  • Genial

  • RayMadeMeDoIt

My phone gets stuck in safe mode whenever Priority Hub is installed. A shame as I liked the look of it and wanted to give a try. Guess I’ll try again after the tweak has been updated and see if it fixes the issue.

  • Damian

i am surprised to see this type of tweak free. Lately everything with a decent quality had to have a price.

  • Vighnesh Manick

Crashes every time I get a notification. Thanks iPhone 5.

  • Sergio

Thanks Thomas Finch! This tweak is absolutely useful, because lock screen notifications look so big and ugly, and this fixes it.

I have waited for a solution like this for too long. Thanks!

  • Amr Badr

    too bad iPad isn’t supported

    • Mean Heng

Now it updated and support iPad

  • I like it.

Couple problems I’ve run into using it though… WHEN PLAYING MUSIC: the notifications can kinda get stuck so that tapping on the app icon does nothing except kind of bounce the screen. Probably related to my other lock screen tweaks though (subtlelock, appbox, forecast, jellylock)… Oh and the count gets messed up after this…

also I see two of the circled x’s that appear to indicate dismissing the notifications. one where it’s supposed to be and the other about half off the screen on the left.

Hoping for an update addressing these things soon!

  • Jeff

    Great tweak!

  • Justin rulton

this is a very nice tweak, unfortunately I too have run into similar problems as a couple of other posters here in that it always seems to crash my phone when notifications come in; I’m assuming that, in my case at least, it’s an ISX incompatibility and that it can be fixed

  • Kaezul

Wish this was in the Notification Center too.

  • TheDude

Such a cool tweak! Coolest part is being able to dismiss from lock screen. Too bad it crashes my springboard every 30 min 🙁

This causes multiple safe mode crashes on 7.1.2 jailbreak so beware!
