I love the 90’s: episodes of Doug, Ren & Stimpy and more go free on iTunes

As a kid who grew up in the 90’s, I spent a lot of my free time watching cartoons on Nickelodeon. I’m not too familiar with the stuff that’s on now, but I know there was some really good shows on back then like Doug, Rugrats and Hey Arnold!

So you can imagine how excited I was when I came across the Nickelodeon Animation Showcase promotion in iTunes this afternoon. Apparently, Apple has made a deal with the network to offer episodes from some of the 90’s TV shows for free…

The promo includes 8 free pilot episodes from 8 different cartoon series. In addition to Doug, Hey Arnold!, Ren & Stimpy, and Fairly OddParents there is also some newer shows like The Legend of Korra and Sanjay and Craig. Here’s the full list:

Additionally, Apple has placed a number of first seasons of Nickelodeon cartoons on sale for less than $15. In fact, you can snag volume 1 of the Best of Rugrats for just $6.99, Doug season 1 for $7.99 and Hey Arnold! for $8.99. Note that they’re all in SD.

These promotions typically run a week or less, so make sure you take advantage of these deals fast. If you grew up during the 90’s, these shows are perfect for drumming up some nostalgia, and if you didn’t, this is a great way to see what TV was like back then.
