About a year ago, we wrote an article about an Indiegogo project that was looking to fund production of a multitool iPhone case. We referred to it as a combination between a Swiss Army knife and a case, as it features a knife blade, screwdriver and various other handy tools.

That project went on to get funded, and the TaskOne case is now for sale. And wouldn’t you know it, Stack Social is running a deal on it. So for those of you who were interested in picking one of these up for your iPhone 5 or 5s, you can now do so at a nice 35% discount…

Here’s a quick description of the case:

Your iPhone is your life. You carry it all the time and it solves so many of life’s problems. But what about when you need to fix your bike, tighten a screw, or cut your steak?

Introducing The TaskOne Case: a multi-tool built right into an iPhone 5/5S case. With twenty-two (22) tools plus dual kickstands engineered into an ultra-compact package, TaskOne is the ultimate iPhone case for the nature enthusiast, gadget lover, or handyman (or handywoman).

And here’s a rundown of the built-in tools:

  • 2.5” Removable Knife
  • 1.8” Wood Saw
  • Bottle Opener
  • 6 Allen Wrenches
  • Pliers and Box Wrenches
  • 3 Screwdrivers
  • Dual Kickstands
  • Wire Stripper
  • Wire Cutters
  • Metric Ruler
  • Reinforced Polycarbonate Edgebands
  • Aircraft aluminum covered in a protective polymer layer to cushion your phone from the inside

And finally, a video of the case in action:

Now normally, this case goes for $100. But for a limited time, deal site Stack Social is offering it for just $65. That’s a good 35% discount, and it includes a screen protector, assembly screws, installation tool and manual. And shipping is free in the continental US and Canada.

Who in their rite mind wants or needs to use their precious iphone as a goddamn hand tool? Wow?

    • Those interested in buying the case? I carry similar tools in my backpack for random situations, having them always accessible is welcome.

    I’m an iPhone nudist…

    • I’ve really become one too myself, but I did look high and low for a great minimalist bumper system. I ended up with this for my 5S and I must say I’m beyond impressed. Barely adds any size to the iPhone but protects incase of drops (at the right angle that is). I have never really gone wrong with elago in the past and this looks sharp with the gold.

Can you share the link for that case??

I was just looking for this …… Not.

Do you think this will “fly” with the TSA? See what I did there?

    • No way in hell is that case getting through TSA! I had a Marlboro bottle opener that was nothing more than a steel, credit card shaped flat piece with a slit in it (to obviously open bottles) that I had for many years, when I needed an opener in a pinch. TSA told me it could be a weapon and threw it away right in front of me…
What was I gonna do? Threaten to open every bottle on the plane?! Lol

That awkward moment when people decide to utilize a $500+ mobile device designed to communicate with others as a multi-tool.

Silly. Just plain silly. This accessory is silly.

  • Now you won’t be able to protect your iPhone when it falls during your next air trip…

Perfect for travelers! No wonder it’s discounted.
