iDownloadBlog Paper

I’m usually not much of a Facebook user but I have to admit I have been spending more time on the social network in the last two days than I have in the whole last month. Why is that? It’s simply due to their new app named Paper, which lets you browse Facebook in a beautiful and intuitive way. If you haven’t tried it yet, I really encourage you to have a look at it. It might change the way you see Facebook, at least until they slap a bunch of ads on it.

Although there is no way to customize the sections of Paper with the content of your choice besides the default ones, I want to show you how you can browse through iDB’s latest post using Paper…

Follow iDownloadBlog on Facebook

Only complete the following steps if you haven’t already liked iDB on Facebook. If you have, just skip to the next section.

Step 1: If you’re not already doing it, Like iDownloadBlog on Facebook. You can do this from the Facebook app, or from the browser, or directly from Paper. On Paper, swipe down to reveal the main menu. In the search bar at the top, simply start typing “iDownloadBlog” and you should see us towards the top with 96,000 Likes and counting.

Search iDownloadBlog Paper

Step 2: Tap on iDownloadBlog. This will take you to iDB’s page on Facebook.

Like iDownloadBlog Paper

Step 3: Tap “Like” to follow the page on Facebook.

Browse iDB’s posts on Paper

Step 1: In Paper, swipe down to go back to the main menu.

Step 2: Tap the list view in the upper right corner. This will list all the pages you already like.

Browse iDownloadBlog Paper 2

Step 3: Select iDownloadBlog from there.

Step 4: Peruse our latest headlines.

And that is all there is to it. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, there is no way to pin a page in the same way you can edit your sections. Hopefully this is something Facebook will add in the future. In the meantime, the steps described above are your best option to go through iDB’s headlines from Paper.

Special thanks to iDB reader Chris Bilcliff for sharing the tip with us.

Cool! Now to figure out how to get Safari Push Notifications on iOS… Jailbreak tweak anyone?

    • Framboogle

That way I can always get first comment

      • Jonathan

Usually I hate those people, but I like this. xD

IFTT (If This Then That) or Boxcar. Give one of them the iDownloadBlog RSS feed and you can get notifications whenever a new article is published…

      • Burge

        Search “Winterz” on ifttt

  • Jon Nguy

Hopefully that pinning feature comes with a future update! That would be pretty cool.

  • Eni

How do i remove those songs that have the cloud icon from my music app?

    • Anthony Nguyen

      Settings>Music>Turn off “Show All Music”
      Your welcome!

      • Eni

        Thanks 😀

    • ✪ aidan harris ✪

Lots of Unknown Artists and Albums, do I detect a music pirate 😉

      • Eni

        have you jailbreak your device?

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

      • Eni

Than you are doing piratcy 😉

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

That’s a common misconception and if you are pirating don’t worry I don’t judge you for doing so (just try to pay for things if you can)…

      • Eni

ok but if apple allows me to put songs from my PC it’s not piratcy, and i provide the songs from you tube so it’s all opened 🙂 and a can’t afford buying songs

      • marcus1324

Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you are allowed too. You downloading it illegally online and saying Apple allows you to put it on your device doesn’t change anything. That’s still piracy. And just because songs are on YouTube doesn’t mean you are allowed to download them. In the Terms Of Service it says that you aren’t allowed to download content from their site. If you can’t afford to buy songs just get Spotify, piracy just isn’t right.

      • Eni

sorry to bother you again, the first song i have downloaded fro itunes, i want to delete it but it wont delete. how do i do it?

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

I think you have to delete it in iTunes:

      • Eni

        Thanks 🙂

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

The above may or may not work. Another way to hide Music is as follows:

Log in to iTunes on your PC or Mac

Go to “iTunes Store” –> “Purchased” (the Purchased link is in the sidebar)

Find the Album or Song you want to hide and click the cross (as illustrated below):

      • Eni

Ok thank you, ill try it 🙂

  • Ben Seiler

I’m getting paper only to read idb 🙂

    • ✪ aidan harris ✪

I wouldn’t get too comfortable using it. Apparently Paper by FiftyThree has applied for the trademark ‘Paper’…

      • I have so much to say on this particular topic, I don’t even want to bother saying/typing it out. Let’s just say that Facebook’s Paper app is not just called “Paper”, but rather “Paper – Stories from Facebook” (I don’t see ANY problem with that name).

      • Andrew Roth

I see both sides. Paper (Facebook) is iPhone only. Paper (53) is iPad only. However you know that if Facebook’s came first they would go right after all the other developers and force them to take down their apps. The whole thing is dumb though. I don’t care much about this one, but King trademarking “Candy” is ridiculous…

Cool this me thanking you from paper
