after 5 minutes my iphone turn off and enter in soft dfu mode, but if i
take out the auto lock 1 mnute to never, my iphone never goes to
lockscreen and never turn off, i did the same with out jb and is the
same, so im thinking is something of ios 7.0.4 but if u can help me with
this please, im from Venezuela and sorry for my bad english if some 1
read this please help have a nice day

Hello, I’m a developer, so I think I can see what is going wrong. If you say that this happened even before jailbreaking, then a critical file/class went corrupted. Restore and set up as new. And do it now, as you’ll be able to restore to a jailbreakable version of iOS.

      • JustMeJip2

hello sr i did that 2day i restored as a new iphone with the ios 7.0.4 then i downloaded the 1.0.4 evasion jb

and is the same ive restored 3 times

      • John Sklikas

Then, this is a problem with your iDevice. Is there any place that you can go your iPhone for service? Remove the jailbreak, lock your iPhone and show the problem to the company that sold you the iPhone. If it is still under insuurance, it will be immediately replaced. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay for it. If a restore and set up as new doesn’t fix the issue, even with no jailbreak, then this is certainly a hardware problem.

      • JustMeJip2

but i dont get it, how can it be a hardware problem cuz i turn off the auto lock and it doesnt turn off the iphone u feel me, it only tun off the phone when the auto lock is on

      • John Sklikas

Because the problem is not auto lock. It is with the circuits used when the lock screen is used. Auto lock being off just prevents the lock screen from happening, which in its turn, prevents the broken circuits from running? You have to go to Apple before anything worse happens

      • JustMeJip2

thanks bro, well ive been using the iphone 2day all day and ive been using the lockscreen and nothing happened 2day yet, so im good now it was only yesterday, sorry for my bad english

      • John Sklikas

That’s alright, not everyone is English in this blog 🙂 Well that mean it was a hardware problems, because circuits use alternative pathways when 1 breaks down. (That’s true only about computers btw, not lamps etc). So don’t worry, you won’t have any problems any more if it was fixed 🙂

      • JustMeJip2

thanks for all ur help bro

You know, I really have to agree with Jeff, but also have to agree with Cody as well (I guess I see the arguments from both sides). Apple has that potential “brand” power which just changes people’s outlooks on an already existing device, like the health fitness band, and can introduce something that just works on a mass scale. On the other hand, as Cody mentioned, there is definitely a significantly smaller market in the health fitness band industry (although fuels bands, ups, fit bits, and even pebbles are becoming much more popular). But here is my argument. I am sort at a middle ground where I feel that Apple will introduce some very important advancements in the health/medical industry which allows people to track their lifestyles much more easily and give them the incentives with the intuitiveness of their user interface. But let’s not forget, this wearable that Apple is rumored to introduce will more than likely offer other features as well that we may not even be thinking about. It may not JUST be a device for health and fitness, it may have other features integrated. I suppose this is was Sebastien was mentioning about the connectivity with the iPhone (which would be very dumb not to have), as well as a microphone to invoke Siri, and other applications than can work with this device besides the “health book” app that we’ve all heard rumored. Just my insight, I can’t wait to see what Apple has in store for this year. Great podcast as always guys.

A little off topic, on IDB I like to select the article and have Siri read it to me on my iPhone, why can’t i do the same with my iPad air? Is there a way?

    • Jonathan Liu

      Settings>General>Accessibility>Speak Selection>on
Select the text you want to read>Press speak
      Done!

      • Kurt

You are awesome! Thank you so much! I was hoping there was a hidden setting somewhere. Thank you, thank you!

  • Snakedoctor729

Jeff, whats the name of the screenshot share tweak you alluded to on this podcast?

    • It wasn’t a tweak. He just shared his Pedometer++ stats via the sharing option of the app

  • Alain Vasquez

What repo should I install to block cydia from opening the AppStore ? Please help

    • Matt Dowdy

i had to find that out because it was happening on everything that i clicked on in cydia every single time causing me to lose my queues and was becoming quite annoying so i had to resort to a less than reputable source which i’m not going to post here but the package to install is called nocyads if you google it you will find instructions on how to get it
(i hope that i’m not breaking any forum rules by posting this, apologies if i am and i’m no pirate but there’s only so many times i want to be redirected to the app store in 1 visit to cydia to advertise the same game over and over)

Help please. This might not be the right place for my question, but I need help.
    I use iPhone 4S on 7.0.4…
There’s a cydia tweak that causes random respring on my phone… How do I know this cydia tweak??? How do I get a log file for the phones operation perhaps it might help detect the problem? Or any way to get list if installed tweaks sorted by date??
I have disabled all tweaks from settings and still gets the random respring… The respring is common when in app switcher I have noticed…
