I’ve really had some seriously battery drain problems since I jailbroke my iPhone 5s a while back. I’ve disabled f.lux, Winterboard, and barrel just to see if that helped. But it does not. The only other “major” app I have it BiteSMS. But I don’t think that would cause this much drainage. I would really appreciate any feedback. Especially from iDownloadBlog about this. Thanks

    • When you don’t know what to do, just restore and set up as a new phone.

That’s the best way to go about it? Is the jailbreak or any app/tweak seemingly more battery draining than most?

      • Always is the best way. Battery drain comes with the jailbreak territory

Wouldn’t it be best to disable a few tweaks with Substrate first and see if there’s any improvement rather than suggesting a full wipe with the potential of battery drain returning as soon as the tweaks are applied again?

On December 11th, when Spotify announced the expansion of the free tier to mobile (limited to shuffling), they also announced that free, ad supported streaming would be available on tablets. It’s the exact same experience that you get via desktop on tablets.

    • Sweet, thanks.

Surprised you guys didnt know this since there was an article on here about it…I know you 3 didnt write the article, but if its on your website, it makes sense that you would’ve read it.

  • Yes I knew that, as demonstrated during the show. @oralarts:disqus in one comment here pinpointed the exact time when it stated being possible

I really like that Google Chrome update (I am a native user so I like using Safari, Google products are pretty cool), the data compression is awesome and the translation feature is cool too. Considering my father reads the Arabic version of Al Jazeera, reading a translated version would be great (I know there’s an English version but it doesn’t have the same context as what the Arabic writers have to say). I have to say, it does well at it.

Clockwork Synergy makes replacement bands available online and at Best Buy. I love mine. It’s much better than the standard watch band.

hahaha @seb481:disqus heads up… I probably wouldn’t use or trust mobile payment at any Target!

Hey IDB team, this is off topic, but I don’t get notifications from you guys anymore on my mac. Can you aid in any way? Cheers.

So just listened to the cast gents – and re-visited spotify for the ipad.(mini 1st gen 64gb att)..i played with it with some of my favorite artists…Never once did i get prevented from playing a song. I also turned on data connection, again no skips prevented. Further testing I went to the radio function picked electronica skipped forward and just kept pushing the skip and got on a daft punk song in the first few goes and thumbs up’d em they started to frequent the genre…then i pushed skip like literally a hundred times, never stopped or prevented. (free customer here let it expire as free all along long time ago) so after a few more bands it hit me into another Daft Punk song, so i stopped there, and went into their jams. I was able to play every song on the list without interuption nor stopage in playing them. (Don’t own em nor on the device or itunes account in anyway.) So this is very interesting, and i will test on my iphone 5 32gb…we’ll see.

    • Wow, you’re awesome! Thanks

Yep, I had spotify on my iphone for traveling, and was forced to use just generic streaming software like tunemark or shoutcast applications. Which I generally like too. So when it comes to being able to just pick songs from thin air even if over the ipad at home this is a nice feature, or my ipad mini in my car using a tethered data maybe…

I know this probably isn’t the right thread to ask but I was an iPhone user exclusively from 1st gen up to and including iPhone 5 but I got a bit bored and have been on Android since which I am now getting bored of, although I have a pretty top spec phone and I have flashed most roms out there for it there always seems to be something missing and small amounts of lag and the general feeling of something being missing has me hovering over the checkout button for an iPhone 5s, my question though is does handsfree assistant from cydia work on ios7? It has been a tweak that I have used since I got my 4s activating the assistant by voice is standard in many assistant apps on Android and something that I wouldn’t like to be without, I’ve searched Google for an answer and I don’t want to jailbreak my daughters ipod or my wifes iPhone to find out as they like their ios devices as they are and my ipad 2 isn’t compatible with the tweak anyway, if you’re still reading then thanks in advance for any help
