How to access your calendar app from Notification Center

TapTodaysCalendar

You’ve probably noticed how you can access the Weather app just by tapping on the weather condition in the Today tab of Notification Center. If you’ve tried to do the same with the calendar app, then you probably realized that tapping on today’s date in Notification Center doesn’t do anything.

This is a minor annoyance that a new jailbreak tweak called TapTodaysCalendar is now eradicating…

After installing the tweak from Cydia, simply pull down Notification Center and tap on the date. This will automatically launch the Calendar app.

Even better, if you don’t use the stock Calendar app, you can even select what app you want to open when tapping on the date. To do so, go to Settings > TapTodaysCalendar. Fantastical is my default calendar app so this is the one I selected, but you can choose to select any app you have on your iPhone, even non-calendar apps.

If you use a passcode or Touch ID to unlock your device, note that this tweak will not work from the Lock screen, but it will work everywhere else. If you do not have any sort of security on your Lock screen, then you’ll be able to use this tweak from there without a problem.

TapTodaysCalendar is free in the ModMyi repo.

Nice. Just a total mystery why Apple left this out….

Love it… this what Jailbreak should be…

I notice that the weather shows in Notification Center only when location services are on? I would love a tweak where it would show the weather in NC when I use wi-fi only.

    • Jonathan

How did you get weather to show?? It won’t show for me even with today view turned on. I checked. :(

      • Andy

I followed the instructions here: reddit (DOT) com/r/jailbreak/comments/1uiucv/help_i_think_ive_broken_my_notification_center/ceiju36

Hello, I still haven’t installed this tweak (although I will) but for some reason my Notification Center looks like this? It doesn’t show the events I have setup on my Calendar, nor my alarms, or description of weather as you can tell. It just has the date like how the picture shows.

Do any of you have any idea? I’ve already tried reinstalling Cydia Substrate, respringing, turning off and back on, and nothing has worked so far.

The tweaks I have installed on my iPhone 5 7.0.4 are: Activator, Barrel, BetrFoldrs, CCControls, customLS, f.lux, HiddenSettings7, IconRenamer, RecordMyScreen, Sicarius, and Zeppelin. I don’t see why any of these should mess up with the NC…

    Thank you in advance!

Mine does this every once in awhile if I install a big tweak or something that deals with root access. Just go back under notification center in the settings app and swipe everything back into notification.

      • Juan Ramirez

Wow! I can’t believe I didn’t check those settings. Well that solved it, thank you so much Micaiah! :)

      • Jeff Ramirez

Just add to this, the today summary was missing on mine even if it was turned on. Should you ever get a glitch like that, just reset all settings and it should fix it. Just in case.

      • Juan Ramirez

        Sounds good, thanks Jeff!

    Finally! love it!

    Awesome. Installing now!

  • diggitydang

Works great for stock calendar but when I change apps, it keeps opening the stock calendar. I’ve tried respringing… Hmmmm… I’ll try a reinstall…

    • diggitydang

Tried reinstalling to no avail. It keeps opening stock calendar app (which is still better than no functionality but wish that the app defined in settings was respected). I even tried uninstalling NCAllOnly to see if it was conflicting. Still didn’t work. Maybe because I’m on a 5S (64 bit). Hope it’s updated soon.

      • ianb821

Diggitydang, there is 64 bit support already, if you continue to have issues, please send me an email via cydia and I’ll see if we can’t figure out what’s going wrong. Sorry you’ve had issues!

  • Jonathan

How do you get the weather to show?? It disappeared for me. Yes, it’s turned on in settings. I have to turn it on after a large tweak has been installed, but it won’t show. :(
    Same with tomorrow summary.

    • ianb821

I had the same issue, anytime my phone crashes and goes to safe mode it disappears. If you have iFile, you can go to Library/BulletinBoard and delete SectionInfo.plist and then respring and everything should be back in your Notification Center.

      • Nobody

        That worked for me :-)
        Thanks

      • Jonathan

        It worked! Thanks! :DDDD

    • Kewall

jow jonathan, you have to go settings, then to general, scroll all the way down to restore settings and from there choose the first one (restore all settings) it will only wipe your settings(like wifi passwords, your wallpaper etc) but you will have your tommorrow summary and weather back.

ps. after you’ve done the above thing you have to lauch the weather app and after that wait app. 10 minutes and your good to go

I wanted something like touch to wake just like the tweak on Android. Pushing on the home and sleep buttons simply overkill don’t you guys think?
