Last month, 2K Games announced a new iOS exclusive racing title called ‘2K Drive.’ The game features a number of real world vehicles, more than 25 tracks, 100+ unique events, and what the developers call “the most precise driving on iOS.”

Combine all of this with impressive graphics and gameplay, and needless to say the game caught our attention. So we were excited to hear this morning that 2K Drive has been released on the App Store, and is now available for download…

From the App Store description:

“Buckle-up and get ready for the most immersive automotive experience to ever hit your iPhone & iPad. 2K Drive provides you with a variety of experiences to test your driving skills – including licensed cars, real locations and dozens of exciting challenges in an authentic world rooted in motoring culture.

Expert driving will earn you stars and coins to purchase boosts, upgrades, new cars and more! 2K Drive lets you compete online with your friends and the world, to earn the best scores, bragging rights, and rewards ahead of your rivals. “

And here’s the official launch trailer:

And a few of the game’s more notable features:

  • Real licensed cars
  • Console quality graphics
  • Multiplayer racing against your friends & the world
  • Authentic driving environments
  • Earn cars, boosts, parts and more
  • Personalize your driver and your car
  • RaceFace™ – take a picture to put yourself behind the wheel
  • Live news feeds from all corners of car culture
  • Dynamic content – challenges and articles updated regularly

The good news is, 2K Drive doesn’t follow the recent trend of ‘freemium’ or free-to-play games, so you won’t be constantly bothered with in-app purchases. The bad news is, the game’s upfront price tag comes in a little bit on the higher side at 7 bucks.

At any rate, if you’d like to checkout 2K Drive, you can find it in the App Store, for both the iPhone and iPad, for $6.99.

    It’s too expensive !!!

      then wait for rr3.

  • Malan Raja

    yet another racing game?
which one takes the topspot? Asphalt / RR / 2kdrive ?

    • Jay

Real Racing 3 doesn’t factor in unless you’re jailbroken and can hack the game. Idvo for Airbourne because it’s more fun for me with the air stunts but if you want a RR2 experience go for 2KDrive.

I appreciate that Asphalt 8 didn’t force any purchases on you. You really can play through the entire game without buying anything and in fact IAP really just took away from the gameplay you had already payed for.

  • laszlo gaspar

real Racing 3 is better in my opinion.

  • Pankaj Rana

If the price is this much, then sorry devs i’ll download a cracked version…

And this ladies and gents is one of the cheap people that make jail breaking look bad..

When it’s freemium -“Why can’t we just pay a one time price for a quality game!!!”

When it’s paid- “Ugggh, this is way too expensive!!!”

    • s0me

Yep, you are 100% right, but at least put a reasonable price like 2.99. This game has IAP like any other game in the appstore and at some point it will make you pay more.

  • Mirko Rezza

for me this one is THE BEST ’cause it is a full paid game. i dislike freemiums.

To everyone saying the game is too expensive: why do you say it’s too expensive? Why is $2.99 so much better than $6.99? This is clearly a very polished game that a lot of work went into. A console game like this would be $60. Does something about the fact that it’s made for your iPad suddenly mean it was somehow less work for the devs to make or inherently less valuable simply because it’s on a different device?

Personally, I don’t like this trend of everyone demanding that games be cheap and have no in-app purchases. I’d willingly pay $10 for a high quality game like RR3 rather than deal with all the freemium junk. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. $7 is not a high price for a game like this.

I honestly rather pay 7 dollars for a game. People complain about the price but fell to realize this is a hell of a lot better than the freeimum model and cheaper also!!
