In the world of iPhone photography accessories, there’s perhaps no name more recognized than Olloclip. The company produces a popular 3-in-1 clip-on camera lens system for Apple’s handset that includes macro, fisheye and a wide-angle lenses.

And today, they introduced a new telephoto lens, bringing the Olloclip line full circle. It’s available in two flavors—one that works with the iPhone 5, and one that works the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and the last two generations of the iPod touch…

The folks over at dpreview were given the chance to try out the lens, and they posted before and after photos.

The telephoto lens is made of a high-quality aluminum body and precision ground glass optics. And it also comes with a circular polarization lens (CPL) that, in effect, can block unwanted light reflections and make colors appear much more accurate.

Additionally, the CPL can be used by itself, or with Olloclip’s other iPhone lens kits. The developers say they don’t plan to sell it by itself, but it’s worth noting that it can cut down on haze—a problem widely documented in the early days of the iPhone 5.

The telephoto lens kit, which comes with the telephoto lens, step down filter adapter, circular polarizing filter and cap will be available next month for $100. And for more information on iPhone photography, be sure to check out our iPhoneography page.

Sounds fun! I love my olloclip right now. That polarizing lens is soo tempting to get, but not for $100. I’ve already bought their $70 fisheye and $50 case.

      agreed. too expensive for me

hmm, I’d be leery of spending that much money if it’s going to be rendered obsolete by the next form-factor change..

Agreed here; this is a serious issue for those like me who do not reside in the US and cannot get these items without purchasing remotely which inflated the price dramatically in the end.

What a GREAT coincidence! I purchased my olloclip 3-in-1 kit a couple of days ago -literally.
Then on the same day I posted a question on the iPhoneography section on iDB to see if anyone knew about a good telephoto solution for the iPhone.
    Thank you olloclip! 🙂

wats the ETA for this product? I want to buy.
