‘Smudge’ adds a Gaussian blur to the area above the app switcher

Some jailbreak tweaks offer awesome new functionality, and some mainly exist for pure aesthetic reasons. Smudge is a jailbreak tweak that falls firmly into the latter category. Smudge allows you to add a simple Gaussian blur to the area above your app switcher when it’s invoked. Take a look at our video walkthrough inside for more details on how it works.

During my usage with the tweak, I noticed that it acts a little funky with Zephyr, and that it also features a not-so-smooth transition back to the standard view while closing the app switcher. It’s an interesting concept that’s just not very well executed. Hopefully a few updates will refine the experience, because I can see a lot of people wanting to apply this effect to their devices.

Smudge features no options or settings to configure, but it would have been nice to have a setting to adjust the amount of blur present. Perhaps the developer will catch my hint.

What do you think about Smudge? Would you consider using it?
