      • cmmb

Apparent racial discrimination, democracy and freedom to say what, can’t you tolerate foreigners say foreign language. You are a petty man

      • felixtaf

So you can write well in English. Whatever, You like people calling you names. I dont wanna interrupt in that. FYI am not from US. So stop this racial, freedom and democracy BS…

The world is a whole, people will die, you care about what is the use of these。
If you then success will die one day,Each people all have the consciousness. No need to worry too much about other people’s things, get the job done right, rush of life for decades, you for these hours get angry, worth?

The world is a whole, people will die, you care about what is the use of these —– MEH..

If you then success will die one day —– MEH…

Each people all have the consciousness —– The first chinese word was much better than this…

No need to worry too much about other people’s things, get the job done right, rush of life for decades, you for these hours get angry, worth? —– oh Really…

      • cmmb

Ordinary life as ordinary things, for any thing too emotional, what significance. I quoted Jesus’s words to say to you:

Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing .

You’re the same as me don’t know

      • felixtaf

lol… Pray a rosary for my soul too.. Please… ;-)

    • marcus1324

      Kill Flowers again?

      • felixtaf

Google translate says Chance.. Dont know what that mean here….

      • marcus1324

Oh then never mind, earlier the same guy was posting that stuff and it translated to kill flowers, my bad.

കൂത്തി മോൻ! Go figure out… We can type languages too…

      • John Sklikas

Does the fact that I am Greek mean that I have to write in Greek? Άιντε φύγε απο εδώ ανόητε! (Get out of here stupid)

      • cmmb

Nobody cares what you write, you curse, don’t regard oneself head and shoulders above others, do you think you are clever. To tell you the truth, I am not interested in you.

      • John Sklikas

See you just described how everyone in the blog feels about you now. Nobody cares what you write, and no I don’t think I am clever for being able to write in a language that most people in the world can’t. But you see, if you go and analyse what you said about me, all of it apples to you, even the other guy that was discussing with you left, people don’t care about you and all I did was to make you say how other people feel about you, and only a curse could achieve this. I am sorry if I made you upset, and I don’t hate you or anything and I hope you don’t, but you have to understand that this is a blog written in English, so it is just wrong to comment in Chinese/Greek/French etc. If you want to comment in Chinese find a Chinese blog, even I have found one when searching for a tweak, to be honest when I want to read articles in Greek, I go to Greek blogs where it is an official rule for the comments to be in Greek. But just to clear it up, you’re not stupid or anything I just used this curse give you all this information into consideration. :)

Arguing that no sense, as long as happy, healthy, these extra fetters affects you, let the heart free. This is the most authentic self. Personal independence of conduct, that is the essence of life, Jesus also said so!

      • cmmb

And thank you for your advice!

  • Bobdole

    hi, nice podcast!
since you have your hands on IOS 7, can you tell me how they handle the security issues coming from the fact you can access the notification center and the control center from the lockscreen?
For example can you prevent both of them to appear from the lockscreen ? or put some limitations, like the camera app ?

And last thing can you explain exactly how the activation thing works exactly ? (especially if you want to sell your phone :D, is it something you can enable and disable at will ?

    • Johnny

There’s a video on youtube demonstrating the lockscreen, and you can disable notification center and control center

    • bloodshed

and i wanna know what happens to control centre while playing games!

    • Joseph A. Ahmad

I believe Activation Lock works only if you’re using Find My iPhone and (or) have “erase all data after 10 failed passcode attempts” enabled. Once a thief (or whoever) attempts to turn off “Find My iPhone”, or if said person tries to unlock your iPhone 10 times and fails (in which your data will be erased off your iPhone), the iPhone will need to be activated by entering your iCloud email and password. At least that’s how I’m understanding it. I may try to do it and see what happens.

      • Bobdole

i pretty much understand the same thing as you do… i just wanted to make sure, that you can disable that feature, if you want to sell your phone for example.

      • Joseph A. Ahmad

Oh yes definitely, just make sure you remove your iCloud account and go into the passcode settings and turn off “wipe data after 10 failed attempts”. Then the iPhone will good to go. I just went into the iCloud section of settings and it appears that every time you attempt to toggle off “Find My iPhone”, it will ask your for iCloud password. And the same thing for Keychain (but that was obvious). I’m too lazy to enter in my passcode wrong 10 times and erase all my data so maybe I’ll try that on a rainy day. Oh wait, it’s suppose to be raining all day tomorrow where I am… let’s do it!

      • Bobdole

thank you, that’s good to know :D

    • Jimothy

I thought the same thing might happen, so I spent a couple hours trying to get through the control center/notification center on iOS 7. As of right now, I can’t get through. It seems pretty secure. You can disable them at the lock screen through the settings app.

      • Bobdole

what worries me is the plane mode toggle, because if someone steal your phone, put it in plane mode, then find my iphone is pretty much disabled…

I use powerguard, on my jailbroken iphone, so that the only thing a thief can do, is take out the sim card (to disable find my iphone)… it takes a little bit more time, especially if you don’t have the tool to take out the sim tray…
(my first iphone5 was stolen a few month ago, so i know that thieves are really fast at disabling everything…)

      • Jimothy

You’re right about that I suppose. I also found a way to access the pictures from the lock screen.

      • Bobdole

i guess it pretty clear now :D no control center on the lockscreen for me ^^

Or at least until some jailbreak tweak give us more customization :D

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

As far as I know putting it in aeroplane mode won’t make a difference since yes the phone won’t be found but Internet is needed to restore / set it up as a new device so I think FindMyiPhone would update the phones location when attempting to activate the device but I may be wrong. What I do remember reading before though is that one of Steve Jobs iPads got stolen and Apple found its location from the IP address their servers stored when someone attempted to activate / restore the device. All that happened before iOS 7…

      • Bobdole

i’m pretty sure that as soon as you put another sim card inside the iphone the localisation doesn’t work anymore (on IOS6), at least not on your own find my iphone account… Maybe ios7 will change that… but it might go against privacy laws in some countries…

For the job story, don’t remember that one… but nevertheless, i m sure they have acces to a lot more data and means than we do…

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

If you have your serial numbers (and Apple is willing to) they can match the location where the device was activated at least that’s what happened with Jobs’ stolen iPad:

“To catch him, police called upon the Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer
Team, or REACT, a Silicon Valley-based high-tech crime unit. And they,
with the help of Apple security, were able to track down where the
stolen devices were being used by matching their serial numbers with
connections to Apple iTunes servers. An attempt to reinstall iOS on one
of Jobs’ iPads led officers straight to Kariem’s apartment.”

      • Bobdole

Yeah, now i remember… but i also know that they would never do that for a simple theft…
There is a big difference between what they can do and what they are willing (or compelled by law) to do for guys like us…

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

I never said they’d do that for everyone I’m just saying Apple can do it if they wanted to!

  • Lobo555

Hi guys this podcast sounds strange this episode, jeff i can only hear ur voice on the left headphone and sebastian only on the right one. Is it just me?

    • Barry Wilson

      Me also,

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

me too. Sebastien in my right earpod and jeff in my left…

      • Jeff

        It’s fixed now.

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

Thanks! Sounds much better to listen to with the updated audio…

    • iosPixel

Indeed. Even the cuts seemed off. I haven’t listened to it in its entirety. I usually save that for a commute.

      Rushed? The pressures of WWDC?

    • marcus1324

Yeah that last two podcasts were weird. I have my volume up full blast this time.

  • Barry Wilson

Ios 7 is begging to be Jailbroken to fix everything apple has messed up

    • Gorgonphone

      i agree 10000%

    • mav3rick

Even The Jaibreak can do nothing about 60-70% white screen. Phone is now a giant flashlight…

  • Gorgonphone

You guys sound so sad and disappointed at his new BS IOS7.. i know you dont want to bash apple but damn they deserve stern chastising for this mess..

it looks crappie..lol sad how folks have to force themselves to get used to it and accept it.. what people are doing is lowering their standers… change is fine but change from something good to something crappy is sad,, i dont want to adapt to low quality design from apple…

the old version was old but it looked great they should have maintained that quality and improved it built upon it… Ive lacks UI design skill so he destroyed the impact .. i hope to ged they tweak the graphics and improve them

I will wait till IOS7 is jailbroken and i will immediately instal an IOS6 theme for it..

    • Eric Van Laarhoven

Good to crappy? Have you used it? I like it a lot personally and it does have some things I wish and hope they would change by the time the Golden Master is released, but so far, I am happy with iOS 7. It was a much needed facelift. To say its crappier than any other iOS is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

      • bloodshed

still can’t understand or justify the hate!!

  • Tom Manolas

Hi guys I love the podcast but in the recent episodes u haven’t been talking about jb that much please try to focus more on this in the later episodes :)

  • Mohammad Ridwan

Hey guys, please fix the audio next time… Jeff’s voice sound too loud and Sebastien’s sounds too soft, Thanks.

    • ✪ aidan harris ✪

I’m with you there. Not that I’m complaining but Jeffs voice definitely sounds too harsh…

    • mav3rick

They’re too upset about the crap 7 that they even didn’t think about audio quality. But everybody is gathering here because of iOS. Only that iOS is no longer exiting. Just white screens with sketched buttons, grade 4th drawn icons and a rainbow look it makes your head spins. And some bubbles as cell signal?!? They added bits of functionality but now the phone is impossible to look at. Incredible mess you don’t know how to turn off the screen faster.

Funny how Jeff on first boot of his black-and-whiteOS tried to find some words for the perfect blank setup screens…

Also Sebastien was bothered in one previous podcast about how from all icons on iOS 6 only Settings and Reminders have borders. What about now with all this mesmerizing purple rainbow look and icons drawn by kids in different parts of the world?

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

Ive has said the icons will change and as far as the UI goes I like it. I realise I can only speak for myself and not others but honestly I’m not just saying this to be some kind of “iSheep” I really do like the look of iOS 7′s user interface…

  • Cool Hunter

Hey there Jeff, did ya know that you can install the beta 1 iOS 7 to any supported iDevice, i installed it to my iPhone 4. It has some bugs, and some features are missing, like the dynamic wallpapers. I was wondering if you guys can make some articles with more explainations :) anyways. All the best

  • ic0dex

Jeff I’m feeling you on the new iOS. When i first saw it on Keynote I had a huge wow on my face but then once I started to use I was like, Ah who cares.

  • Matt G

Too bad podcast app doesn’t work for ios 7

  • Mike Abdallah

my sons iphone 4 says this device is not registered as part of the iphone developer program . How do i fix this?

    • felixtaf

      1. Simple… Register as a Developer, pay 99$/year to access beta firmwares.

      2. Downgrade your son’s iPhone to 6.1.3 and restore from iCloud backup (Do this if u want all your files back in iOS 7 too). Download iOS 7 beta for iPhone 4. Connect your iPhone4 via itunes. Press SHIFT(Option key for mac) + UPDATE (NOT RESTORE) and sellect the beta firmware from the pop up window. You iPhone will be updated to beta and You are good to go. Remember its a beta version, it may not be stable and battery wont last long. So do it on your own risk.

      3. Since Apple will sign 6.1.3 until iOS 7 official release, you can always go back. Check iDB’s tutorials for downgrade from iOS 7 Beta to iOS 6.1.3.

  • J B

is there a reliable jailbreak yet released for IOS 6.1.3/4 ?? appreciate useful replies.

  • Derpsaloteer

Does anyone actually listen to these shitty podcasts? Like honestly.

    • mav3rick

      www . getthehelloutofhere . you

    • Jeff

Only about half a million listens thus far. Nothing big.

  • JoshuaHulgan

For the love of god, will people flood Apple with feature request emails for quick reply!?!

    • mav3rick

They will continue to flood market with whatever they want. Until the market will turn its back…

  • Anthony Gilera

For the whiteification issue that many people see as a really bright problem. They should utilize the ambient light sensor to not just adjust the brightness but also adjust the color of the texture gradually from white when its very bright out to black when the room you’re currently in is pitch black.

    • mav3rick

Not a big problem. Many were looking for a perfect full screen light up torch. Or wait, we should have to enjoy some nice graphics on the retina screen…

      • Anthony Gilera

It was just an idea. I wasn’t bashing the redesign in anyway shape or form sir.

  • Mustang5Oh

How can anyone miss things like the hideous Game Center green felt? That was beyond ugly and childish. Yuck.

  • mav3rick

Guys, you sound very bland on this podcast. Using like the same words all over again with long pauses and many “yes, it is”. Like in the keynote: tens of times “this is amazing”, “this is nice”. After Jobs they don’t even have words left. But what they could say about some white screens with sketchy buttons and hideous icons? Ha, ha, they tried to make fun of Samsung bumping of phones. Wait until you’ll hear Samsung’s laughs on this messOS 7. Unfortunately your reason is perfect good: iOS is gone. You cannot even keep the phone beside your Mac now.
Even the title of the podcast can say it: chitchat? On such big day when they revealed the so called “the most advanced mobile OS”? Not the most dull messed up one. Only chitchat?

  • Mario Saldana

Auto App Updater is another tweak seen in iOS 7.

  • GuyBey0ndC00L

I disagree with your thought on Control Center. I just wish Apple would give us more options (ways) to activate N.Center, C.Center, Siri, etc… I would have luv to swipe from bottom to activate App Switter and Double Tap home button to Activate C.Center.

  • ✪ aidan harris ✪

I’m not sure if it’s been said yet (or if you’ve since found it) but I noticed a big “Oops” in terms of using the old icons / iOS 6 style in settings –> brightness and wallpaper where the old iOS 6 preview is shown instead of a new iOS 7 preview.

Since I’m an idiot (in the eyes of others) and gave up my jailbreak on my one and only iPhone to install iOS 7 the only thing that is bugging me (you touched on it a bit) is AppStore apps and not so much their user interface but their icons. For example Apples very own Pages, Keynote and Numbers icons just do not look right on iOS 7 with all their gloss…

  • http://sciencedem.blogspot.com editor

I suspect a jailbreak of iOS 7 will come sooner than anyone thinks. Its already being worked on.
