Olloclip releases companion iPhone app for popular lens accessory

In the world of iPhone photography accessories, there’s perhaps no better known name than Olloclip. The 3-in-1 clip-on lens started out as just a Kickstarter project, but it has since become a mainstay in Apple Stores and shutterbug bags alike.

Fans of the Olloclip will be happy to hear that the team released a new iPhone app this weekend, also named Olloclip, designed to work with the popular accessory. The app features a mesh editor, useful modes like Video and Macro, and more…

From the App Store description:

“Introducing the official olloclip camera app! Designed to work with your award-winning olloclip 3-in-ONE lens system. Use it with your olloclip lens system to build on the advantages you already get with your olloclip Fisheye, Wide-Angle and Macro lenses!”

The app’s Video mode allows you to easily shoot video while using your Olloclip, and the mesh editor tool helps dial down any kind of curve-like effect in your photos caused by one of your lenses. Macro and Normal mode are pretty self-explanatory.

Rounding out the feature list is a tool called Reticles, which allows you to adjust focus and exposure—independently or together—in your photos. Just tap the icon to lock the two reticles on any point in your viewfinder, on your iPhone’s display.

Obviously, if you already own an olloclip (or perhaps a similar iPhone lens system), grabbing this app is a no-brainer. Otherwise, I’m not sure how much use you’ll get out of it. Either way, you can find the companion app it in the App Store Store for free.
