Last week we brought you some information on Kamera — a recently released jailbreak tweak available for free on Cydia’s ModMyi repo. Well, we just got a chance to try it out on…ahem, camera, so we thought we’d bring you a video walkthrough.

As you probably remember, Kamera is a Notification Center widget that enables you to go directly to the front-facing or rear-facing mode via the Camera app. Recently an option was added to Kamera to allow you to use a long tap and hold to go straight to video mode. I’ve found it to be a decent tweak, although many other options exist out there to quickly invoke the Camera.

If you’re browsing from an iDevice, you can download Kamera from Cydia using this direct link. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.

    I don’t like it

  • genXhippie

Hell, I’ll give it a shot.

  • D1M

There are too many ways to open up the these days lol not saying it’s a bad tweak though. Nice work!!! 🙂

  • regkilla

    I like it

  • Bosco

Great tweak. The camera opens up very quickly with these toggles. However, I wish it supported HDR.

  • If only there was a way to disable the Notification Centre altogether (permanently). I hate it.

    • Johnathan Jennings

Center^ idiot. And if you don’t like it.. STOP PULLING DOWN FROM THE TOP. It’s that simple.

      • Lots of tweaks use the statusbar to activate them. NC just gets in the way. Take a chill pill and put your Internet bollocks away.

      • Johnathan Jennings

Theres no option in activator to drag down. I use the status bar for 4 different things.
        1. Drag left=Open Messages
        2. Drag Right=Open camera
        3. Hold=Open Siri
        4. Drag Down= Notification Center.
NONE of them interfere with the other. Stop complaining about the status bar. You sound Ridiculous.

      • The abuse was not needed and you still don’t get the point. If you had spoken to me like that in the street I’d have decked you. Funny all the same it wasted 5 minutes of work annoying some scrub.

      • Johnathan Jennings

Oh damn we’ve got a badass overhere. What are you 10? I mean really. Grow the fuck up. You wouldn’t do shit.

      • Springtomize 2 has a disable notifications centre option mate.
(My phone autocorretcted center to centre lol)

      • Singularity19

Actually, there are 2 correct ways to spell centre, therefore you are the idiot

      • Johnathan Jennings

        I know that, but it’s called Notification Center© WITH copyright. That’s a name. Therefore you’re a dumbass. It’s Center.

      • But as I am in the UK, I will continue to use the UK spelling. Now if we can just drag ourselves to the original topic.

      • notewar

        You mad bra?

      • Singularity19

Looks like we’ve got a bad ass here.©

    • Rickm_jr

well you can disable it using Springtomize. Or use the activator option “do nothing” on the drag onto screen from top.

      • Thank you I ll try that now. Because there was no tweak I automatically thought it couldn’t be done.

    • You could always use Dashboard X to put Notification Center widgets on your SpringBoard while ignoring Notification Center.

Jeff did you forget to review InfinityTask? Pretty major tweak..

  • queen_ir3ne

    I think it’s cool

  • Joonyaboy

Only works in Portrait mode unfortunately, otherwise it’s nice. But I take most photos landscape

  • It’s nice and fast, nice tweak.

  • I don’t like it, it’s like a camera for an app, after you take the picture it asks you if you want to use it. You can take multiple pictures one after another (from what I have used it of course, I haven’t messed with the settings)

  • The best way for me is to open it as a gesture via Activator. Need nothing more.

  • I think this is cool.

  • so it’s nice but when i tried to press the home button it didn’t take me back to the homescreen wtf!?!? i had to press cancel

  • Nice shortcut if used with Dashboard X
