We already showed you how to miniaturize your banner notifications, but what about simplifying them? As you may have guessed, the appropriately named SimpleBanners steps up to the plate to handle that task.

SimpleBanners is a tweak that will allow you to remove certain facets of a banner notification. For instance, you can remove the body of text, the app icon, sound, etc. Check out the video walkthrough for the full scoop…

There are five toggles contained within the SimpleBanners settings panel: No Text, No Title, No Icon, No Name, No Sound. Enabling these toggles removes each respective part of a banner notification. For instance, if you enable all five toggles, then your incoming banner notifications will arrive totally blank. The only downside, is that you have to respring for each change to take effect, and there’s no respring button built into the settings panel.

Does SimpleBanners look like the type of tweak you’d enjoy using? If so, then head over to Cydia’s BigBoss repo where it can be had for free. Also, don’t forget to leave a comment below.

  • Nice Tweak!!! The way u talk in ur vids make u sound so likeable. Weird comment I know. But the way present is always awesome!! Definitely gonna try this one out

  • Hi Jeff, just curious what tweak are you using on your notification center to Respring? I like that much better the SBSettings. Thanks, Tim

I think it’s a bit out of proportion that the actual content in your example gets about 5% of the space and the rest is overhead. I hadn’t paid that close attention to it before, but are all notifications this out of proportion?

Why is it every time i get an email push notification, it always says “there is no content in this message”? Nobody sends emails with no content. lol
