MountainCenter now available on Cydia

By , Jun 23, 2012

MountainCenter, the jailbreak tweak that brings OS X Mountain Lion’s Notification Center to the iPad and iPhone, is now available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for $2.99.

While some may balk at that price point due to another similar tweak — MountainLionCenter — being available free of charge, Mountain Center provides you with more options, and support for devices other than the iPad. Be sure to check out our full walkthrough of MountainCenter for the entire scoop.

Which tweak will you be using? Let us know what you think in the comments section.

Dear commenters: Would especially like to know if it plays well with LockInfo. Thank you. :-)

I got it for free in the big boss repo somehow.

Does this support iPhone? If it does then it’s cool:)

It’s great. More features than MountainLionCentre, and I’m finding the opening/closing animation smoother too. Its still a little bit laggy, but that’s probably more a limitation of my iPad2, rather than the tweak.

It also places nice with Springtomize 2 (for transparent or blurred NC) and works fine with IntelliscreenX.

I’ve tried I’d on the new iPad. LAGGY.

That’s a shame. I guess the A5X would struggle with all those extra pixels to draw. However I’m noticing more lag on my iPad2 now as well. The more notifications I have the laggier it gets. Might have to uninstall :(

2.99 is too much for such a minor improvement. Normally, I dont complain about prices, but there is about 100 major tweaks, and each costs in the range $1-10. Meaning, you can easlily spent 300 bucks just on tweaks which you might not even use as much as you think.

I’d like to know if there’s an option to turn it off when you’re in full-screen apps

All apps are fullscreen lol. This isn’t OS X.

      • Dan

I typed that out too fast, I meant if it would be possible to turn it off when you’re in certain apps. Kinda like zephyr. you can choose which apps it’s disabled in (ie: games)

you would need to install QUASAR and test it. However, I am pretty sure you will run into some compatibly issues. Quasar has tough time to work with Multifl0w and CardSwitcher, and we can probably add mountainCenter too.

It’s a nice little change to have. Little bit pricey I think for what it does, but still nice.

    This is quite awesome!

I know its a Little of topic but I have to ask: is there a way to blacklist certain Apps for native-gestures? I’d love to use them but have to turn them of in order to use wrist-protection in Goodreader. Zephyr unfortunatly doesn’t offer the Five Finger back to homescreen gesture. Thanks alot

does it allow to assign the swipe down from status bar gesture to an activator action or does it block it completely? and i would also like to know if it works with lockinfo ;)

I’ve uninstalled this tweak on iPad 2 iOS 5.1.1 and this still makes notification center crash. Whenever I scroll down to stocks it freezes for about 2 minutes then causes the springboard to crash. Stay away from this piece of shit tweak.
