Easily access your favorite websites with RapidLinks

By , May 30, 2012

RapidLinks is a jailbreak tweak that allows you to quick access a batch of up to five links by means of an Activator action. Each link is configurable via a settings panel in the Settings app. From that same panel you can also configure the Activator action that you would like to associate with the tweak.

Once all of your settings are configured, simply invoke RapidLinks by means of Activator, and a panel will surface from the bottom of the screen yielding the links that you configured. This allows you to access any of your favorite websites from anywhere within seconds. Check out our video walkthrough inside for a demonstration of how it works.

RapidLinks is a free download from Cydia’s ModMyi repo. As simple as it is, I think it’s definitely worthy of a look. What do you think?

Can this tweak launch apps like Facebook eg when you enter “facebook://” as URL? That would be a handy cool feature imo.

You can already launch any app you want with Activator from Ryan Petrich…

Yes, I know, and I know too that it’s possible to make menus in Activator with multiple actions in order to open multiple apps. The difference is, that Activator makes menus of apps while RapidLinks makes a menu of links. What I’m looking for, is a tweak which does both, makes menus with shortcuts to links as well as to apps. And if RapidLinks supports urls like facebook:// or tweetbot://, RapidLinks is what I’m looking for.

If this works on the iPad then it’s definitely worthy. Surfing on that little screen isn’t the greatest. But it’s handy.

It crashes on the iPhone for me on adding a second link.

Good idea, but with crashes, not worth keeping around.
