pod2g shows off his new iPad untethered jailbreak on video

Earlier today we reported about pod2g’s progress on the new iPad 5.1 untethered jailbreak. It seems that we are now closer than ever to seeing this jailbreak released as pod2g teased us with a demo video of the untethered jailbreak in action.

Published a few minutes ago on his blog, the video shows a fully functional iPad 3 running Cydia and going through a reboot…

The best of all is that, according to pod2g, if this jailbreak works on the iPad 3 and the iPhone 4, it should work for all devices, including the iPhone 4S.

Let’s just sit back and wait. Something tells me we’ll see this jailbreak real soon.

      I have a brand-new iPhone 4S I got five days ago it has iOS 5.0 installed is there any way I can grab the IOS 5.0 blobs that are in the iPhone 4s like what Ifaith does?

      If you saved your blobs, redsn0w will soon allow you to do that.

      Unfortunately you can’t. Apple isn’t signing 5.1 anymore.

        Wrong, as like Antonio said if You have save your SHSH at right time, then *NEW* redsn0 will allow You to downgrade and it will do it alone. Lets say, without iTunes.

        Ya I’m waiting for it too. The way Willie phrased what he said, it seems that he didn’t use 5.1 yet and wants to update to it cuz of the jailbreak, that’s why I said that he can’t update, but if he has blobs for 5.1 he will be able to get on 5.1, like you said when the New Redsn0w is released.

        For you to save your SHSH blobs on 5.1 you would have had to already upgraded before 5.1.1 came out. Those still on 5.0.1 can only upgrade to 5.1.1 or back to 5.0.1 with the new redsn0, if the blobs were saved.
        Those on 5.0.1 have to hope the jb works on 5.1.1, not that there’s big differences.

        I’ve got my shsh’s saved for 5.1 and the API ticket ..used tiny umbrella to get them.. Just need the new red snow now.. And you can get on to 5.1..

        The response was for Willie and those of us on 5.0.1. We can’t upgrade to 5.1 anymore.

    well not only did we see an untether but also looks like he has an iBook patch ready to go for that DRM that apple put into iBooks app i was hoping that xCon would pick up from that and be utilized as the ibook patcher for jailbroken devices oh well

      I doubt it, just because it was demo’d on video does not mean that it is ready for release. Likely he has a few minor bug fixes and stability checks to do

    Can anyone tell me?
    I’m running 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4s jailbroken. 
    In Cydia I have 5.0.1, 5.0.1r1 and 5.1 blobs.
    How come I have 5.1 blobs if I never go to 5.1
    Anyway can I use that blobs for future downgrade if I update to any higher Frimware?

      yes.. cydia have save ur SHSH bloobs… u can try use TINYUMBRELLA n try save.. make sure u check on REQUEST FROM CYDIA

        There are two 5.0.1 blobs in cydia (5.0.1 and 5.0.1r1) which I believe they are 5.0.1(9A405) and 5.0.1(9A406).
        How can I save the 5.0.1(9A406) blobs that I’m currently running.

        iam running on 5.0.1(9A406) to.. but so sad… iam to late… can’t save SHSH for any 5.0.1(9A406) after apple stop signing… so now, just have 5.1 SHSH for my device.. n hope to muschelenerd will release the A5 downgrade tools.. before i update to 5.1.1 n downgrade to 5.1 if 5.1.1 dont have any unthetered jailbreak form pod2g..

        If you used to jailbreak on 5.0.1 you can download you blobs that cydia save it for you by using a tweak called “iSHSHit”, I also do that.

      Cydia saves all your SHSH’s .. Even the fitmware your not on.. You can save them to with tinyumbrella .. But to save 5.1.1.. TU needs a update first..it’s best to save tham as well ..

        Ok.. u try download n use tiny umbrella (latest version)… it will save both firmware 5.0.1(9A405) and 5.0.1(9A406)… and after mushlenerd release tools to downgrade for A5 device (soon)… it possible to u which any firmware to downgrade 5.0.1(9A405) or 5.0.1(9A406).. just now, u need save all SHSH for ur features..

      Testing on 5.1.1 wouldn’t be for the benefit of those on 5.1. It would be for those that have jb on 5.0.1 so didn’t upgrade to 5.1.

      This jb works on 5.1, he hasn’t tested on 5.1.1 yet. Apple will only stop signing 5.1.1 when they release the next version.
