The folks over at HowToarena are reporting that a new SIM interposer for the iPhone 4S is about to hit the market. The GEVEY Ultra S promises to unlock both GSM and CDMA handsets, which is a fairly big deal.

We’ve already seen a couple of SIM interposers launch for Apple’s latest handset this year. Last month alone we told you about two new products, the R-SIM and TP-SIM. But neither worked with Sprint handsets…

The new Gevey Ultra S, however, promises to unlock either your Verizon or Sprint-flavored iPhone 4S as long as it meets the following requirements:

  • The phone must be on an iOS firmware prior to iOS 5.1
  • It must be on one of the following basebands: 1.0.11, 1.0.13, 1.0.14
  • It must be jailbroken (to work with CDMA networks)

If your iPhone meets all of these qualifications, and you have an extra $60 laying around, then this might be a good solution for those looking to unlock their CDMA iPhones. In fact, if you happen to be a Sprint customer, this might be your only solution.

The Gevey Ultra S won’t be available until the end of the month, but Applenberry is taking pre-orders. It’s worth noting that these products can sometimes be sketchy, if not illegal, so they are worth researching before purchasing.

What other product has been released that will unlock the Verizon iPhone 4s? I must have missed it.

I believe the TP SIM interposer mentioned in the second paragraph of the post works with the Verizon 4S.

it works on any cellphone carrier? Iam from panama movistar and I meet all the requirements.

  • unlocking the cdma iphone so it can be used on a gsm network?

    • Raechel Mclain

no cdma only on cdma gsm only on gsm but you can swap carriers all day long but cant cross the two

      • Uh no don’t give information without knowing. You can unlock a CDMA sprint iPhone 4s for gsm carriers like AT&T Tmobile. You can cross the two cause the antenna for e 4s is both CDMA and gsm stupid

      • Can i unlock my iPhone4s Verizon 11.3 (iOS 5.0 Baseband 1.0.11 ) plz tell me any unlock (gevey) avilabl for my iPhone ?????

I love these solutions for unlocking the iphone.

Has there been a good “recommendable” one for just the iPhone 4???

Also, with this new Gevey Ultra S – does this include people who want to unlock their phones for use on T-Mobile??? My Sis wants an iPhone in the worst way, she is on a stellar “old” T-Mobile plan and doesn’t want to give that up.

    Any ideas??? Thanks!

    • Yes this will work for your sister. If she wants the 4s idol low this article. GEVEYSIM ULTRA S, or if she gets the 4 same thing. I actually have an AT&T iPhone 4s I’m trying to sell on eBay. I had a lot of them and I’m down to my last one. Look for me on eBay. Basger71682. Thanks!

  • If you’re a Verizon customer and you have a iPhone 4S that’s been on an active line of service for 60+ days with an account that’s in good standing, you can simply call Verizon’s customer support line and they will unlock your iPhone 4S free of charge. And from what I understand, it’s a permanent solution. Just as if you bought an unlocked iPhone full retail from Apple.

Where exactly did you hear this? I’ve never heard of a phone company unlocking your iDevice for free…

      • Believe it. I called a couple of weeks ago and they unlocked my iPhone 4S for me. All I had to do was call, tell them what I was calling about, give them my account information, and they did it. All I had to do afterward was plug in my iPhone to my Mac and when iTunes opened, it said “Congraduations, your iPhone is unlocked.”. Simple as that, and it works! I test it out with a prepaid AT&T 150 minute domestic/international sim I purchased from Wal-Mart. Verizon to my knowledge is the only iPhone service provider who will do this for you. I love Verizon.

Excuse me for my language but that’s fucking awesome! I don’t have a Verizon iPhone or anything but that awesome! Hopefully more mobile service providers will do the same in the future like AT&T.

      • Jake

Did you call the international customer service number or just regular customer service? And did you tell them you wanted it unlocked for when you travel out of the country or did you tell them that you wanted it unlocked to work with any carrier international and in the country as well?

    • Jake

I have heard of the unlock after 60 days; however, from what I understand it is only an unlock to work for international use on foreign gsm networks. The country codes for the United States remain locked. This is the most ridculous practice ever if you ask me. Why not just unlock them for people in the United States so that if they are forced to work in an area where normal carrier has no service they can just get a sim to use while in that area?? That way they can enjoy the carrier that is strongest where they live at home and not be foreced to either have multiple phones with different companies or settle for a carrier that is not quite as strong in home area because it is the one that works in the MOST places they work. It would level out as most all of the carriers have different areas of the country they are strongest and weakest.

What is needed is making it mandatory for cell companies to unlock their devices once the person has paid off the subsidy, for free.

But, but, but that is REGULATION. Costing jobs, and killing puppies.

      • Anonymous

I’m completely against big government but when companies take advantage of customers regulation is needed.

Any recommendation to unlock an iPhone 4 04.11.08 outside USA?

  • Question: how is it possible to unlock an iPhone 4S on firmware 5.1, plus the phone having the need to be jail broken if there isn’t a 5.1 jailbreak out there for iPhone 4S phones? Or did I read that wrong?

    • francisco_08

      prior to 5.1, not 5.1.

  • R-SIM 3 Ultra S release now:
    1.) support iOS 5.0 / 5.0.1 / 5.1
2.) support GSM and CDMA (Verizon / Sprint)(need untethering jailbreak, because need install Cydia sources for CDMA unlock)(iOS 5.0 / 5.0.1 is work perfect)
    3.) Support more than 26 counties (R-SIM 2 Ultra S have 15 counties only

    • Anonymous

Hello, i have iphone 4s sprint (cdma, 5.1, 2.0.11) is there any way to unlock this and use T-mobile?

  • One question: how, exactly, do you install a sim card in a CDMA device, as there IS NO card slot???

    • Kirk Medsker

It’s on the side of the phone, just like the AT&T version.

    • theres a sim slot on my iphone 4s

  • You fuck, cdma phones don’t use sim cards

    • you moron. sim cards are in all of the cdma and gsm iphone 4s’s duh!!

  • Ok, So I’ve put myself in a bit of a jam. I was a loyal iPhone AT&T customer for quite some time, but last week on an impulse decision , traded in our AT&T 3GS’s for a 4 and a 4s from Sprint. Love the phone but now my service blows and I’ll be out 600 bucks in ETF’s from AT&T. I’m still under my 14 day cancellation period with Sprint, and could avoid the termination fees from AT&T by just paying their bill and the $40 dollar reactivation fee… but I could ONLY do that if I could unlock my Sprint iPhone’s so I can order replacement sims from AT&T and make the switch back over. If ANYONE KMOWS A WAY, ANY WAY to switch a 4s from Sprint to AT&T, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I am currently running 5.1.1. And if this is not possible, does it look likely that it may be in the next few weeks?

  • Ali Shabazz

  • Isfandiyor Abdullo

Hey I have an iPhone 4s with sprint and it doesn’t have a sim card slot, can I still unlock it?

  • Michele Pfeiffer Johnson

is there anything out there that will unlock an iphone 4s from AT&T with a bad esn? 6.1.3

  • Vacak Veca

att–iphoneunlocking is one of the few web sites that is still in a job to fully unlock AT&T telephones after AT&T needed away the accessibility for their database from many inexpensive unlocks. att–iphoneunlocking is among the best unlocking site for AT&T without any doubt.
