T-Mobile 4G network will be compatible with the iPhone

By , Mar 13, 2012

In a blog post published today, T-Mobile CTO confirms what we already heard last month: the company is working hard on upgrading its network to fully support the iPhone:

A nice side benefit of the refarming effort is that our 4G network will be compatible with a broader range of devices, including the iPhone. The other important benefit of our network modernization effort is the coverage improvements it will deliver, especially when it comes to in-home coverage.

It would sure be a welcome gesture for the one million T-Mobile customers who currently have to use their iPhone at 2G speeds.

Will this only work for the 4s or all the iphones?

It won’t work on ANY current generation iPhones…only TRUE 4G devices.

There have been reports of 3G service getting expanded so that any 3G GSM iPhone works on T-Mobile’s 3G network.

      Any 3G iPhone will work.

Explain to me how this would work…when it clearly states t-Mobile 4G network. No where do they mention 3G networks…

T-Mobile will fully deploy LTE next year. But there are refarming their HSPA+ to work with iPhone

I’ll dump Verizon and get an iPhone on T-Mobile easily if I can get a 4G phone and a cheaper bill. T-Mobile would jump with customers, being how they are the only big carrier in the US without the iPhone.

ABOUT TIME! Is there any specific date or any clue of when it’ll be completely capable with the iPhone?
