FastClear: Clear notifications with a single tap

By , Feb 19, 2012

Does tapping twice to clear Notification Center notifications get on your nerves? Well, if you haven’t used one of the many already available tweaks to eliminate the issue, perhaps FastClear is what you need?

FastClear is a simple tweak that makes the “clear” dialogue display on Notification Center instead of the “x”. This enables you to clear all of your notifications with a single tap instead of two…

As stated, there are tweaks that have been available on Cydia for quite some time that have this functionality; Springtomize 2 comes to mind. But if you’re looking for a singular tweak with a focused purpose that’s free, then it’s hard to do wrong with FastClear — it just works.

Head over to Cydia’s ModMyi repo if your iOS 5 device is jailbroken and you’re anxious to take it for a spin.

What do you think?

How many of these are we gonna see, Jeff? Seriously?

    • Kok Hean

This is the first standalone tweak that does this.

It always amazes me when people make statements as facts, an authority of a subject in a reply, but is wrong. Why even reply if you are not 100% positive?

This is not the first stand alone tweak that allows you to clear a notification from NC with one press. QuickClear has been out for AT LEAST 4 MONTHS.

We still love your vids Benjam. Keep bringing those vids. You are a big help to the iPhone community.

      • Kok Hean

Sorry, when the tweak came out 4 months ago, I was still on 4.3.3 and I clearly did not really notice the tweak. Thanks for correcting me.

Didn’t read your comment before my reply to this idiot. I couldn’t remember the tweak. But I hate these know nothing morons.

      • Eric Morgan

No it’s not. There was one before springtomize.

      • Kok Hean

You called me an idiot and a moron. Why the rudeness? You didn’t even read my reply to Joshua. I already said that I DID NOT SEE THE FREAKIN’ TWEAK IN CYDIA UNTIL NOW. Who are you to judge me?

I didn’t even know this was an option in springtomize 2 and I’ve had that on my phone since the day I jailbroke. Learn something new everyday. Thanks Jeff

QuickClear has been out for awhile, does the same thing too.

I just want a tweak which gives single tap clearing for NC, but I don’t want that awfully ugly and big ‘clear’ button. So please can someone who is talented enough create a tweak which enables single tap clearing but still shows simply the good old ‘x’ button?

      Read my post above.

It’s all good. I think everyone is just a little cranky knowing we have to sell our iPad 2′s cause the iPad 3 is coming out soon:)

Actually I prefer the android style “clear all” button instead of clearing each app one by one ;(

    Any tweak for that!?

I wish it could delete ALL notifications.

Just to clarify, I didn’t know that a similar Tweak already existed, I just was annoyed by tapping two times and fastly made the tweak and also submitted it.

@Angelo if I find the time, I might do it.

    • Kok Hean

Lol, I’m the same as you, I didn’t know that a similar tweak existed and someone called me an idiot and a moron :p

  • David Matusow

Care to give us a name of the tweak or a direct link? The link you posted is in Japanese and I don’t see anything on there that looks like what you are describing. Thx.

  • http://www.twitter.com/ANGOmarcello Angelo

A very big “Thank You” exactly what I was looking for.

@David Matusow this is not a link that should be clicked this address is for adding as source in Cydia.
