Verizon Shared iPhone and iPad Data Plan Coming Soon?

Many customers have both an iPhone and an iPad 3G that they use on the same network. This requires users to pay for separate data plans, but according to a leaked training manual this could soon change on the nation's largest carrier, Verizon.

According to Engadget, who leaked the flier, users will only have to pay a single $9.99 a month fee for one load of data that can be shared between both the iPhone and iPad. In May of 2011, Verizon's CFO Fran Shammo hinted towards this rolling out, but offered no time frame...

Confirmed: Apple Reaches iPhone 4S Agreement With China Telecom

Apple sold 37 million iPhones last quarter, making it the top smartphone manufacturer in the world by volume. But interestingly enough, the record-breaking number didn't include any sales from mainland China.

With nearly a billion wireless subscribers, China is a major opportunity for Apple to increase its handset sales. And it's already starting to make its move. Earlier this month Apple launched its iPhone 4S on China Unicom, and now reports are coming in that it's reached an agreement with China Telecom to do the same...

How to Fix White or Missing Icons on Your Jailbroken iPhone?

Ever since I jailbroke my iPhone 4S using Absinthe, it has been behaving a little weird, sometimes displaying white icons or even transparent icons for certain applications. It seems that this issue only affects Apple's stock applications such as the Phone app, Calendar, etc.

I can't really pinpoint the issue. Is it because of Absinthe? Or is it because of a package I have installed from Cydia? While I'm not really sure what causes this problem, I have found a simple trick to fix the blank or missing icon dilemma...

Earlier this month, Apple released its popular iPhone 4S handset to long lines in mainland China. But launch day didn't last very long, as riots broke out in front of multiple Apple Stores around Beijing, forcing them to close.

Scalpers were believed to be a major factor in the riots — they buy iPhones and other gadgets and sell them for a profit on the grey market. But it looks like Apple has found a way to keep them from causing any more problems...

Apple Lists iPhone 4S as “In Stock” on Its Online Store

Since the iPhone 4S became available in October, it has yet to see an "in stock" label on Apple's Online Store. Earlier this month Apple moved to 3-5 days, as supply was still a little tight. Today however, things have changed, and Apple is now listing the iPhone 4S as "in stock" for all sizes and carriers.

Selling 37 million iPhones in Q1 2012, Apple was having trouble keeping up with demand. It's unclear how many of the 37 million were 4S's, but it was obviously a majority...

Apple Accused of Witholding $6.3 Million in Taxes from French iPad Sales

Apple is coming under new accusations today for reportedly witholding payments due from 'copy tax', from iPads sold in France. French publication Les Echos is reporting that Apple is refusing to pay the tax on 64GB iPads sold in 2011, and is now coming under-fire.

Apple reportedly owes a total of €4.74 million ($6.3 million), which comes from the 500,000 iPads sold in France during 2011.

So what is a copy tax exactly?

Another Tethering App Sneaks Into the App Store [Updated]

This is not the first time a tethering app passes Apple approval process to make its way to the App Store.

A couple months ago we told you about iTether, an app that brought tethering to the iPhone without even bothering hiding its true feature. At the time, iTether was so obvious that we really wondered how this app had made it through the app approval process. It got pulled shortly after, but a few early buyers were able to get their hands on the app and tether their iPhones for free.

Today, a new app managed to fool Apple's team of app reviewers by camouflaging the tethering feature under an app that looks completely legit...

HomePlayer: A Fully Focused Audio Interface for the Music App

HomePlayer is a jailbreak tweak that brings a fully focused audio experience to your SpringBoard. It interfaces directly with the Music app to bring a full screen music playing session to the Home Screen.

When I say "fully focused" I truly mean it, as the app completely disables the Home button's functionality to prevent users from exiting the interface.

It's an interesting concept, although it can be a bit buggy at times. In the end it's an obvious 1.0 tweak that can go as far as its developers decide to take it...

‘LockscreenSureCam’ Checks Before Launching the Camera App

LockscreenSureCam is a tweak that prompts you before launching the Camera on your Lock Screen. I don't know anyone who's ever had a problem with this, but I'm sure someone is out there that does. If that's you, then check inside for a brief video walkthrough.
