How to Fix “Error Establishing a Database Connection” when Using Absinthe

The Absinthe jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 was released a few minutes ago. Of course, we were right on it and we already posted a tutorial on how to jailbreak the iPhone 4S or iPad 2 using Absinthe.

While I haven’t had any problem running the jailbreak – well, I had it a few minutes before everybody else – it appears that some users are having a problem when launching the Absinthe app installed on their device, which returns an “error establishing a database connection“.

We have a fix for that…

iOS hacker PlanetBeing who helped develop the jailbreak tweeted a simple fix for the “error establishing a database connection”. Apparently, all you need to do is go to Settings > Network > VPN > ON.

The VPN connection will most likely give an error and your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 should reboot shortly after. Once it’s rebooted, try launching the Absinthe webclip again.

    When I start a letter written to Azarb a configuration error occurred

    Hereafter, I have a problem which has been deleted all photos

    my jailbreak was hanging but disabling the passcode seems to have fixed that issue :) Thanks so much to the people that made this possible!

    Nothing happens when I turn on VPN ……. It just shows a configuration error occurred ….. I have tried this over 3 iPad 2 running on 5.01 ….. Help please

    Hi. when jailbreaking my iphone 4s with absinthe I get the error on indows saying ‘Absinthe has stopped working’ I have tried over and over again but still unsuccessful to jailbreak. What shall I do?

    hi there and thanks guys for putting the jailbrake for the 5.0.1 i was trying to get it 4 months ago and now i finnaly found one that worked and its ace and it worked and it didnt mess it up

    i put it on my ipad did what you said about the database connection then it worked and gave me the cydia picture then i went in and it said no internet connection

    is that ok or i messed up

    i dont know i just gave it a try to see if it would work

    so i dont know if that normal or not

    When I click on the Absinthe, it comes up a text with black backgorund that says “Wait for absinthe to comblete..” and after few seconds, below the text it comes up a text saying “Didn’t work? Try this: 1. Tap Jailbreak to open the Settings application and turn on the VPN named Jailbraik”. But when I tap “jailbreak” it comes something that says “cant open Absinthe. The wrong was: the URL cant be shown”. And when I try to Settings > Network > VPN > ON, nothing happens.
    Any advice on what to do?

      right click absinthe then go to properties then compatibility check the box then delete the old absinthe..after that do the installing part agian..(i had the same problem but i tried that and it worked!)
