NewTabSearch is a well thought-out jailbreak tweak that forces Mobile Safari to open a new tab for each new search that’s performed via the bult-in search box.

It’s even smart enough to know not to open a new tab when you perform the same search. Check inside for a full video synopsis of NewTabSearch…

I don’t know how many times I’ve lost a page that I was viewing simply because I wanted to perform a search, but this is a tweak that will resolve that problem going forward.

NewTabSearch can be downloaded for free on Cydia if you have a jailbroken device running iOS 4 or higher.

I think this should be a default option in Safari, what about you?

  • Most definitely, I had been waiting for this feature for a long time.

me too, that’s why I switched from iOS to Android. I get this feature right out tha’ box, no need to jailbreak, no rebooting into “safe mode” no issues.

      • LOL you said android.

      • Dan

you’re right! I need to switch to android now so my searches open up in a new tab!

Why are you trolling iOS blogs?

      • Jon Garrett

trolling? why because we disagree? I troll for the same reason you do, because I own an iPhone.

  • Hey, what about 2 pages loading at the same time?? How can i enable this. I’ve been searching for something like this. Anyone can tell me?

You need Sleipnizer for Safari, which adds gestures too.
