It’s that time of the week! We frequently comb the far reaches of the App Store to bring you awesome apps for your downloading pleasure.

This week, we’ve got a super fun game for the iPhone and iPad, an app for finding great deals in the App Store, and a handy list-making app that takes advantage of the Notification Center in iOS 5. We hope you enjoy this week’s picks!

Temple Run

Temple Run is the newest game to add to your “addictive games” iOS folder. (You know what we’re talking about.) In this endless runner, you play an archaeologist that’s being chased through the dangerous world of booby traps and natural obstacles. Indiana Jones fans will love this one.

This game is seriously fun. You probably won’t be able to put it down for a good while after you try it for the first time. It’s beautifully designed, and the graphics are really impressive on devices like the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

You tilt your iDevice to control your running, and you swipe in all directions to turn, jump, slide, etc. Collecting coins along the way earns you power-ups, new characters to play, and achievements to unlock.

The best part? Temple Run is free for all iDevices in the App Store.

AppsGoneFree

Every day hundreds of apps reduce their price to free for a limited lime to try to stimulate excitement. Wouldn’t it be great to get a hand picked, human curated list of ONLY the ones that are good? You shouldn’t waste your time finding these deals, then scouring through them all to find something worth downloading.

Our friends at AppAdvice have put together a neat new app that tracks hot deals in the App Store. AppsGoneFree is a pretty iPhone app that gives daily updates on slashed prices and App Store previews.

AppsGoneFree is available for free in the App Store.

Slide To Buy

Slide To Buy lets you display a shopping list intuitively in the iOS 5 Notification Center. Unlike most checklist/shopping apps, Slide to Buy lets you manage your list from the Notification Center lock screen window.

Here are some features:

  • Press the Sleep/Wake button to display the list on the Lock Screen
  • Manage your shopping list directly on the Lock Screen: slide to check items
  • Incredibly fast! Add, remove or edit items with just a few taps
  • Enter quantities with only one tap with the extended keyboard
  • View the list in the new Notification Center
  • Support for multiple lists
  • Advanced customization options
  • Share your shopping list by email

Slide To Buy looks like a really nice app that handles shopping lists much better than the native Reminders app in iOS 5, and we like the concept of the slide-to-check feature in Notification Center. The app itself looks well designed and thought-out.

Download Slide To Buy in the App Store for $1.99.

That’s it for this week’s picks! Let us know what you think of these apps in the comments below.

  • Really, I need to pay for an app to buy other apps? Oh okay

An app for a shopping list, really? Is it too difficult or a cumbersome process without this app? You have the option of: “quantities” really? I can see the list in the Notification Center. Fantastic! I love the look of a shopping list in the Notification Center. I think, I might need an app that gets rid of the Springboard completely and leaves all the apps in the Notification Center, I am sure my iPhone will look much “nicer.” Oh, I also have the option to email my shopping list; Great! I do this at least once a day. Definitely, this app for $2.00 is steal and a must have

  • By the way, temple run has been out since the summer, and it’s been free for over a month.
