MuscleNerd has spoken. The Dev Team front man has tweeted that the latest version of RedSn0w will in fact jailbreak the just-released iOS 5.0.1 beta 2.

The jailbreak is still tethered, and you’ll need to point RedSn0w to the iOS 5.0/5.0.1 IPSW to perform the jailbreak for the time being…

Only two days after releasing the iOS 5.0.1 beta to developers, Apple seeded 5.0.1 beta 2 today in the iOS Dev Center. It’s currently unclear as to exactly why Apple pushed the update, but it can be assumed that beta 2 addresses the battery life bug that Apple acknowledged with the first 5.0.1 beta.

Who else is getting confused with all these betas? We sure are!

  • Any news ? And I mean anything on a i4s jailbreak …I need something to keep me going..

    • No news. I don’t think we’ll get any news until it’s actually released.

Anyone else having issues with winterboard on Ios5? It works…. its just choppy and delays the phone. I have had no issues with most other tweaks, even tried restoring a few times, its just winterboard is not playing nice on my phone ever since IOS5… anyone else having this issue? Any fixes?

  • Yes exactly the same issue for me. I have removed it for now as I hate the fluidity of the iPhone being impaired.
I’m not sure if this is correct or not but I think it got worse after installing the semi tether JB.

On another issue I had to uninstall the IntellisxreenX package as it killed my mail app.

  • When is the unthetered?

I’m still using the jailbreak for 4.0.1 and am still pretty happy with it.
Is there a big advantage in upgrading at this time? I do not want to have a tethered jailbreak.
