Samsung Postpones the Launch of Their New Device Out of Respect for Steve Jobs

Samsung and Google were supposed to take the stage next week at the CTIA convention in San Diego to announce the first phone based on Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich OS, but the two companies canceled at the last minute.

It was originally unclear as to why the companies canceled, but it turns out that they did so out of respect for Steve Jobs…

In a statement to All Things D, Samsung said:

“Samsung and Google have decided to postpone the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event during the CTIA in San Diego, previously scheduled for Oct. 11. Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product.”

It’s great to see that even though it’s a very competitive industry where Apple and Samsung are fighting multiple legal battles, Samsung still had the decency not to unveil its new handset so soon.

Classy move, Samsung!
