Sprint Image on Apple’s Website 100% Confirms Sprint is a New iPhone Carrier

By , Oct 4, 2011

Welcome, Sprint. It’s been a long and arduous journey, but you made it to the promise land; you finally scored the iPhone.

This: image from Apple’s online store, confirms that Sprint will be the official third US carrier of the next iPhone.

These are the images that are displayed when asked to select a carrier on Apple’s website. See the Verzion and AT&T images for comparison.

Just yesterday, the image wasn’t there, but we checked today, and sure enough, there it is. What could this mean for Sprint as a carrier?

Most importantly, Sprint can compete with AT&T and Verizon when it comes to their Smartphone offerings. No offense to the Evo, and other Android phones, but iPhones they are not.

Even Sprint’s CEO admitted that Sprint has been at a disadvantage by not having the iPhone. This time, Sprint wasn’t taking any chances.

Yesterday, a WSJ report revealed that Sprint had made a steep, “bet the company” investment, to guarantee their seat at Apple’s table.

Whether or not this will pay off or not, still remains to be seen.

Are you a Sprint customer? Would you consider switching to Sprint for one of their famed unlimited plans? Let us know in the comments below…

      Thank you.

  • VERZION

Oh my!, I did not know there was a new carrier in the US, may be we should give it a try to VERZION………LOL

I used to be a SPRINT customer, but had no signal at home 99% of the time, they had a tower that was just 1/3 a mile away, but only had antenna that faced in the wrong direction – so, our neighborhood of nearly 5000 people were “blacked out” and despite many numerous calls to SPRINT – they refused to point an antenna our direction – so, they can go “F” themselves as far as I’m concerned.

They really don’t listen to their customers – they were more concerned with trying to sell me a $99 internet device + an extra $10/mo that would give me signal – I told them that I didn’t want to pay a cent for service I was already paying for the service and that they needed to do the proper thing for me and the 5000 other people who live in my area.

Another thing that ticked me off about SPRINT was I had “unlimited” internet, but they blocked many websites including Google Maps, Hulu and others that were data intensive – so much for “unlimited” WTF was I paying for???? Dan Hess never says that when he is pleading for you to switch – he can “F” himself also for all I’m concerned!

Eventually I dropped SPRINT for T-Mobile which is awesome! Now I have AT&T so I could get my iPhone 4, and with the prospect that AT&T was buying T-Mobile I didn’t see the need to wait or stay with T-Mobile.

I hope SPRINT falls flat on their face with this. Also, I don’t think SPRINT will be able to offer the same cool Internet and talk feature on the iPhone that AT&T currently offers – it may not sound like a big deal, but until you get it…. let me tell you WOW its a GREAT feature!!! Well worth it. :-)

Whew… I’m tired ranting on SPRINT’s “sorry” ass… oh, its just past 10:00 am…. TTYL,

Well Eric, if it may help some….after Sprint realized that so many people had signal problems, they began to offer the Internet device you referenced, (Airrave) for free. I myself have received one so I can vouche for it. And it is awesome. Besides that, I have and utilize Google Maps daily so I am not sure what that’s about….Being a phone guru for such a long time, an IPhone user saw my Evo 3D and how many customizations I completed out of the box, & said the IPhone isn’t customizable like that….and that if I wanted basic….the IPhone was the way to go….But I am certain it is all about what world for that individual….. Toodles

    Hurray Sprint got it.

I’ve had SPRINT for well over 10 years and haven’t had an issue with them. I will get the iPhone as soon as it’s available!

There are no more true unlimited plans on Sprint. When they announced that change in rate plans, that was a sure sign that iphone was coming.

  • timmer

Sprint Customer. Love their unlimited plan. My only hope is that they let those of us with contracts break them to upgrade.

I get a discount through my work, hopefully it will work for the iPhone 4s!

I pay less than 63 dollars a month for the Sprint unlimited plan and have been with Sprint since 2001. My work gives me a 30% discount and I have been keeping my HTC Touch Pro 2 alive with Froyo for the past month or 2. I only HOPE that the whole iPhone 5 crap doesn’t come out in like 3 weeks and we all are stuck with iPhone 4S’s..
