T-Mobile: We’re Sorry We Don’t Have the iPhone

T-Mobile is sad that it doesn't have the iPhone. With Sprint rumored to get the iPhone 5 next month, T-Mobile will be the only main carrier left out in the cold.

T-Mobile Chief Marketing Office Cole Brodman has issued an open letter to all T-Mobile customers about the iPhone. Brodman makes it clear that T-Mobile values its customers and wants the iPhone on its network...

Jailbreaking the iPhone Helped Pandora Succeed as a Company During Its Early Years

Pandora is one of those companies that really doesn't need an introduction. The popular streaming music service has garnered over 100 million registered users, and it just went public in June of this year with a stock price of $16/share.

But it hasn't always been smooth sailing for the company, according to Pandora's CTO Tom Conrad. Conrad spoke at GigaOM's Mobilize conference earlier this week about the company's rocky start, and how jailbreaking the iPhone changed everything...

Disney Appmates Combine Toys with iPads

It's sometimes easy to forget that the iPad can be so much more than a fancy way to browse websites, answer emails, and make video calls – not that all those things aren't super cool. Disney is one company that is thinking outside the box, every bit of business gobbledegook that you can think of.

Disney's latest line of toys, which go by the love-it-or-hate-it name of Appmates, take the magic of the Cars 2 universe and brings it to the iPad. Games have been on the iPad since day one, but what they haven't had until now is little toys that interact with them...

iPad Controlled 80% of the North American Tablet Market in Q2

When you are talking about slim, modern day tablets, the iPad was the first to market. Before Apple's slate, the "tablet" category was filled with clunky devices that ran desktop software and carried price tags over $1,000.

Obviously, being first has paid off for the company in dividends. I don't think anyone would argue that the iPad has dominated the tablet market over the last two years, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon...

Skype for iPhone and iPad Updated with Ads, Bluetooth Support, Image Stabilization

Skype has updated its iPhone and iPad apps in the App Store with several new changes and features. Bluetooth headset support has finally been added to Skype for iOS. A "bugfix for security vulnerability" has also been added, making us think that the privacy vulnerability from earlier has been patched.

Anti-shake technology has also been introduced to help stabilize users' video streams during a call. Skype has also added in-app advertisements for those who haven't purchased Skype credit...

Get Your Very Own Cydia “Reloading Data” Shirt

Jay 'saurik' Freeman, the creator of Cydia, is known for wearing a black t-shirt wherever he goes that says "Reloading Data." Jailbreakers will recognize these two words because that's the message that gets displayed in Cydia all of the time when content is loading.

Every time Freeman is spotted in public, like at JailbreakCon, readers always ask this one question: "Where can I get one of those Cydia shirts?"

We've got good news for you...

Did Apple Just Sneakily Confirm That We’ll Only See One New iPhone?

Today Apple sent out invites for its October 4th media event where the curtain will be lifted on all things iPhone.

Interestingly, the image that Apple used on the invites may provide a clue as to what we can see come October 4th at 10:00am PST.

The image contains the Apple 1 Infinite Loop campus in the Maps app (where the event will be held), the correct date (Calendar app), the correct time (Clock app), and one more little interesting tidbit...

The message simple says: "Let's talk iPhone."

How to Stitch Your SHSH Blobs Using RedSn0w to Create Firmware That Can Always Be Downgraded

If you checked out our RedSn0w 0.9.9b1 video walkthrough, you saw for yourself how much of a drastic change the latest version is.

One of the most compelling features added to the new RedSn0w, is the ability to 'stitch' your SHSH blobs to their corresponding firmwares. This makes it so that you have a self contained means of downgrading firmware, well after it stops being signed by Apple.

Even better, is the fact that it's completely standalone, meaning you won't have to do any trickery in order to get iTunes to let you downgrade. By stitching an SHSH blob to a firmware file, iTunes is none the wiser.

Check out our full tutorial and video walkthrough of this incredibly handy new feature...

Apple Refused ‘Multi-Touch’ Trademark

Way back on January 9th, 2007, Apple brought the original iPhone into existence, and the rest as they say, is history. On that very same day, the Cupertino company also filed for a trademark for Multi-Touch. And now, 4 years later, the United States Patent and Trademarks Office has made its decision on the application.

In what is a rare knock-back for Apple, the USPTO has decided that Apple was not the rightful owner of the Multi-Touch trademark and, unsurprisingly, the iPhone-making giant decided to appeal. That appeal has now been heard, and Tim Cook and co. are still out of luck...
