Tiger Woods 2012 for iOS Free for the Entire Weekend

There’s an old saying that goes, “when one door closes, another one opens.” That metaphor seems to really fit today for those of you looking for a good deal on an iOS app. Just as Snapseed’s super-sale comes to an end, another one begins.

In honor of the PGA Tour Championship this weekend, EA Sports has made its iOS version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2012 completely free. The game typically runs $4.99 for the iPhone app, and $6.99 for the iPad edition. But wait, there’s more…

“The special price of $0 couldn’t have come at a better time for Tiger Woods fans. The iPhone title just received a complete overhaul with improved gameplay stability for greater overall performance. Additional updates include new ways to earn free Pro Shop Cash, which can be used to upgrade your golfer faster, the ability to upgrade as you play, a new Closest to the Pin Challenge hub, and temporary boosts to your golfer’s abilities during the Closest to the Pin Challenge. Wind directions and hole yardage have also been updated for more realistic play, and the touch sensitivity for the Preview buttons and Pinch Zoom have been refined.”

Given the fact that EA frequently runs $0.99 sales on most of their games, I wouldn’t say that this is a must-have. But a free copy of any EA sports title, especially an HD iPad edition, is worth the download. Grab Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2012 for free here.

Hurry, the sale ends Sunday!
