Today, in Apple Stores everywhere, Apple began iOS 5 and iCloud training for employees. The training is done through the Daily Download application, which was part of the Apple Store 2.0 upgrade.

What’s the significance of this? Apple only launches a new OS with a new iPhone, therefore hinting that the iPhone 5 launch is right around the corner…

Training for new software usually happens about two weeks before a product announcement. This could also point to press invitations for a September event for next week.

What are your thoughts? Excited for iOS 5?

I really can’t wait for them to just release iOS 5 because I’m tired of the way my phone functions. IMO it should have released already!!

  • cant wait for ios 5 ill have to wait for the iphone 5 as my contract not up for renewal till feb so will be a nice upgrade for my 4 till then 🙂

  • Mark

Yea can’t wait. Been watching vids on utube and looks class!! Wish they’d hurry up!! Lol

  • They really improved with iOS5. I don’t think I could downgrade back to iOS4 until iOS5 dropped. Even if they stopped Jailbreaking, I wouldn’t downgrade.

“Apple only launches new OSes with a new iPhone, therefore hinting that the iPhone 5 launch is right around the corner…”

Really? Theres a new iPhone coming out? This is not news or significant. We all knew OS5 was coming out in October when it was displayed months ago on stage.

    • Mark

Is there a vid for this. Would like to see it?!

      • j.johnson

        yeah…on apple’s website.

    • Quan Chen

They said september a few months ago so no way you knew thës

      • j.johnson

well that further proves my point. they already told us it was coming so them being trained on it brings nothing new to the table.

      • James

They actually said “Fall” which doesn’t begin util September 23rd and runs throughout October so that is all we knew for sure.

“hinting that the iPhone 5 launch is right around the corner…”

yeah but fall is right around the corner. guess the point i was trying to make was that we already knew that. so many articles giving out the exact same information as knew gets old real quick.

I am excited, as long as IOS 5 doesn’t cause the same problems for iPhone 4’s IO4 caused for iPhone 3s. iPhone 3 barely worked at all with the IOS4 update, until they updated it to 4.1.

Is there a app that they have that we can get to show us and train us or is it just for the staff at apple?

i don’t think iOS 5 will be released in the next 2 weeks as the developers haven’t even got the GM seed yet

  • Djttothee

Is there an app that we can get like the apple staff has access to?

  • WELL WELL WELL!!!

if we only get a iphone 4 with dual core and a bettern camera that will suck ass i mean. 1.5 years nearly for a new phone and it should be decent upgrade. i hope we get a very good upgrade if not im switching to an android device.

Did anyone notice the loading bars on the Music icon, the SMS icon and Photos icon?

    • pablo

That is where the staff download the information on the updates for each bit of information relating to that app in the iOS. It would be on any native app but they are just the ones shown in the screen shot. There is talk that this we be implimented in to the iOS when downloading music etc however we will have to wait till it’s release to see if it’s in there. For now, it’s just for staff. Hope this helps you
