Fan Favorite Dolphin Browser on Android Arrives in the App Store

Arguably the best web browser available for the Android platform, Dolphin, is now also strutting its stuff on iOS. Dolphin's claim to fame is its deep gesture integration, which reduces the need for quite so many on-screen buttons. Perfect for smartphones with smaller screens, just like the iPhone.

Offering its wares for free, Dolphin joins a long list of web browsers in the App Store which aim to take a piece of the browsing pie from the stock Safari software, but it may need to offer something unique if it's going to make people switch...

LaunchConfirm: Stop Accidentally Launching Apps

It's no secret that many of the tweaks found on Cydia are close replicas of already existing tweaks; LaunchConfirm is no exception.

Heavily borrowing from another recently released jailbreak tweak by the name of DoubleTapToOpen, LaunchConfirm aims to accomplish similar results, albeit using a slightly different method.

Both tweaks aim to prevent the end user from accidentally launching apps. DoubleTapToOpen requires a double tap to launch apps, while LaunchConfirm adopts a confirmation dialogue box in order to do so.

In the end, both tweaks are very similar, as you'll see in this full video walkthrough...

Emails to Steve Jobs Were Analyzed by Apple Employees, Tim Cook Could Be Next

You didn't think Steve Jobs was the only one at Apple keeping an eye on his publicly available email address, did you?

Now that Apple's long-time chief has resigned, many are wondering if new CEO Tim Cook would carry on the tradition of answering emails from the public. An interesting story from MacRumors suggests that Cook is indeed answering emails from his tcook@apple.com address citing the story we posted a couple days back. There have also apparently been a number of other responses received from Cook in the days following his promotion...

Sainsbury's, one of the UK's largest supermarket chains, is getting ready to bring a rather unique shopping trolley to some of its stores, according to Pocket-Lint.

Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 6 and iOS 4.3.5 With RedSn0w

The latest version of RedSn0w 0.9.8b was recently released by the Dev Team, and it includes two key components.

The first component, is compatibility with the iPad 1 iOS 5 beta 6 IPSW. Apparently, Apple updated this IPSW without altering its version or filename, so this latest version of RedSn0w features compatibility with both the original and updated files...

Sprint Schedules October 7th Event, Related to iPhone Announcement?

It seems a day can't go by without a new iPhone 5 rumor, and today has had its fair share already. The latest rumor to throw on the metaphorical fire revolves around US cell phone carrier Sprint and an event it plans to hold in October.

The event, which will take place on October 7th, is being called a 'strategy update' by the execs at Sprint. It's supposedly aimed at giving the team a chance to speak to the press, as well as a question and answer session. But is that all? Maybe. Maybe not...

iPhone Smart Cover Concept Video [Updated]

So I was messing around with Ryan Petrich's VoiceKeys tweak a while ago, and stumbled upon a revelation: The tweak's proximity sensor feature, coupled with my BookBook case makes for an almost iPad 2 imitating Smart Cover feature for the iPhone.

In a nutshell, I decided it would only be right to record the functionality that I inadvertently stumbled upon, with the hopes of coercing someone in the jailbreak community to take this project head on.

What we need, is jailbreak tweak that allows one to activate the proximity sensor anywhere, in any app, not just in the Phone app (or in this case, the Messages app). Check inside for a video demonstration of the iPhone Smart Cover concept in action, along with a call to arms to any jailbreak developer who wishes to take this project on...

Finally, Leaked iPhone 5 Components that Matter

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone (or phones) in the next few weeks, and as usual the rumor mill is on fire. Also right on schedule are the flurry of purported next-gen components we're seeing pop up all over the web.

But so far, the parts haven't really amounted to much. Although some differences have been noted, the pieces in general look very similar to those found in the iPhone 4. Finally, some parts have surfaced that actually matter...

Apple Denies that iTunes Match Streams Music

Last night, we reported that Apple opened up a beta version of its upcoming iTunes Match service to developers. iTunes Match is a music-mirroring utility that allows you to store music in Apple's iCloud without needing to upload all of your tracks.

In our exclusive video demo of iTunes Match, we showed you how the service seems to allow you to "stream" your music from the cloud, without needing to download the files. But Apple just told AllThingsD that that's not necessarily the case...

Can You Ear Me Now?

Those of you who didn't really like the Hand Case might not be too fond of the Ear Case either. Engin-ear-ed by the peeps at Thumbs Up World, the Ear Case won't help you hear better, but it should get you some much deserved attention.

Made of silicone rubber, it will definitely protect your iPhone and will take care of any antenna issue you might have...

In the process, the site is essentially creating an online museum of sorts, with goals of showcasing every publicly released product since Apple's humble beginnings in 1976...

Purported Apple Branded Micro USB Cable Surfaces

If you take a look around at all of the latest handsets from other manufacturers, you'll notice they all have one thing in common — the charging port. It seems most mobile phone-makers have settled on the micro-USB cable as a standard.

Apple, however, has continued to go with its proprietary 30-pin connector for all of its mobile gadgets. But a recent report from German-based blog iPhone-ticker suggests that that could all change this Fall...
