The latest version of RedSn0w 0.9.8b was recently released by the Dev Team, and it includes two key components.

The first component, is compatibility with the iPad 1 iOS 5 beta 6 IPSW. Apparently, Apple updated this IPSW without altering its version or filename, so this latest version of RedSn0w features compatibility with both the original and updated files…

Secondly, you’ll find support for a tethered 4.3.5 (GSM) or 4.2.10 (CDMA) jailbreak, instead of the old method of pointing to the outdated 4.3.4/4.2.9 IPSW’s. The team also claims to have fixed an issues with the CDMA version as well. Check inside for the release notes and downloads for both the Mac and Windows versions.

Here are the release notes from the Dev Team:

“Apple updated the iPad1 iOS5b6 IPSW without changing its version number or filename, so we’re releasing redsn0w 0.9.8b7 to handle both the original and changed IPSW. We’ve also added explicit support for a tethered 4.3.5/4.2.10 jailbreak (instead of pointing at the 4.3.4/4.2.9 IPSWs) and fixed a 4.2.10 problem.”

You can find RedSn0w 0.9.8b7 along with other versions of RedSn0w in our downloads section.

Again, keep in mind that all of these jailbreaks are of the tethered variety, and we’ll most likely have to wait until after iOS 5 officially goes public, before we get access to an untethered jailbreak.

With that in mind, have you decided to go ahead and take the jump, or do you still plan on holding off?

  • Burge

Wait for official ios5, tethered just not worth it…

Still can’t believe 4.3.5 is not fully jailbroken yet

    • Sneib

What you mean? Dont you understand that it would be stupid to reveal untethered jailbreak now, because Apple would patch those in iOS 5 and then hackers need to find new security holes.

    • Chris

They’re saving the exploits for iOS 5 instead of wasting it early

    • Jamie

When 4.3.5 has no benefits over 4.3.3 which is already jailbreakable untethered, why in God’ name would they waste a realease on 4.3.5 with iOS 5 just round the corner like the other guys have said .. Common sense should tell you that but i’m assuming you want it because you updated without saving your shsh first otherwise why would you even care.

The last jailbreaks were the offspring of first geohot and then comex. Geohot got gobbled up by Facebook and comex was acquired by apple in a late night merger and aquisition.

So my question is who exactly “they” is when referring to 5.0 exploits. The ihatesnow guy? The dev team? They seem to be good at rebuilding their tools but not exploits. Although I could be mistaken.

    • Greg

Very mistaken. If we as just users know what the jailbreakers are coming up with nect then so do apple. Hence the reason it’s better we don’t know x

I purchased a white iPhone 4 and it came with 4.3.5. So I have no choose but to use a tethered Jailbreak. When vever I wanna download something from Cyrus I make sure I’m by a computer, other then that I only had to reboot my iPhone only twice in the past month because of a Cydia update.

  • Tony

Can any1 plz confirm if apple are still singing 4.3.3 on iphone 3GS ??

Your reply would be very appreciated and a big help thank you.

  • Sean Casselden

has any one found an untethered jailbreak for ios 4.3.5 for ipod touch 4g and is there any difference in 4.3.5 and 4.3.3 because ive currently got ios 4.3.3 and i was thinking about updating my ipod to 4.3.5 ??

    • Luis

@ Casselden Don’t update to 4.3.5 unless you have backed up your SHSH first. I just bought two iPod touch in the past week and they came with 4.3.5 pre-installed. From what I’ve read there are no real benefits to the update and currently only a tethered jailbreak is possible. I’m using this jailbreak method and it blows so follow my advise and keep your current firmware until they release a jailbroken untethered IOS 5.
