iPod Memos: Turn Your Voice Memo Recordings into iPod Tracks

How often do you use the built-in Voice Memos app on your iDevice? I don’t use it much, but I’m sure others find it very handy. And if you happen to be one of those people, you’ll love this next jailbreak tweak.

iPod Memos is a simple utility that allows you to quickly add recorded Voice Memos to your iPod library. This way if you record a lecture or a train of thought, you can listen to it later from within the iPod app…

iPod Memos pulls this off by adding a new button into your Voice Memos Info screen, labeled “Add to iPod.” You can get to this screen by launching the Voice Memos app, tapping the menu key, and selecting the blue arrow next to the recording you want to export.

A quick tap of the new Add to iPod button brings up a message that confirms your memo has been successfully added to your library.  I don’t know if I have a conflicting utility, but I have had issues with the tracks not appearing right away.

Other than that annoyance, the tweak seems to work as advertised. iPod Memos is definitely aimed at folks who frequently use the Voice Memos app. But since its available in Cydia for free, anyone can give it whirl.

Have you tried iPod Memos yet? Is it useful for you?
