Roughly two weeks after releasing iOS 5 Beta 4, Apple just unleashed iOS 5 Beta 5 minutes ago.

According to Apple, in order to install iOS 5 beta 5 over-the-air, you will first have to backup your device through iCloud. Then delete everything on your device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and then Settings. Finally, start the over-the-air update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

You may also update via iTunes 10.5 Beta 4 by first backing up your device and downloading the full firmware, then update to iTunes 10.5 Beta 5 and restore from your latest backup.

As usual, you can download iOS 5 Beta 5 from the Apple Dev Center, assuming you have a developer account.

We haven’t had time to update to iOS 5 Beta 5 yet, but we’ll let you know if we find anything interesting once we do.

Use redsn0w_win_0.9.8b4, just point it at beta 4 ipsw to install custom bundle and bypass registered UDID screen, won’t jailbreak as yet though but i’m sure the dev team will update it.

    Does this effect the jailbreak?

  • i lived the improments but i think it mych better in iphone 3gs

  • @Kristen if you update OS then it will never be jailbroken since the hole is patched

  • Kristen

@Kyle What if i wanted to jailbreak it would it work? Bc i have my iphone jailbroken right now..

Anyone know how you actually opt-out of the data collection specified at the bottom of the release information?

If you’re using iOS 5, you’re *supposed* to be a developer. Meaning, they want to know what goes wrong with the device.

Ok, now I’ve got your attention. Could anyone tell me if iOS 5 will come with a BASEBAND update, and if so, will it be supported by Ultrasn0w? Because I think I’m stuck at 4,2,1 – BB 05.15.04. PLEASE, DO PROVE ME WRONG.
