Comedian Mark Malkoff decided to put Apple to the test and see if there was a limit to what the Apple Store will allow you to do. In this short video, Mark gets a pizza delivered, has a romantic dinner, gets his iPhone fixed while dressed as Darth Vader, and finally, brings a goat in the store… Read More

Fake Apple Stores in China Getting Shut Down

by Alex Heath on Jul 27, 2011

You may have heard about the fake Apple stores uncovered in Kunming, China. Essentially, unauthorized resellers were created identical replicas of Apple retail stores without Apple’s permission. As you can see from the picture above, some of them couldn’t get the company’s name spelled correctly, though.

Now it seems that Chinese officials (and oddly enough not Apple) have gotten word of these fake Apple store operations, and two stores in Kunming, China have already been shut down. We’re still waiting for Steve Jobs to pull out the big red button and nuke the rest of these stores off the map… Read More

Amazon’s Future Tablet Will Support 8 Less Fingers Than the iPad

by Alex Heath on Jul 27, 2011

We recently told you about Amazon’s upcoming consumer tablet that’s set to release later this year. The rumored device is expected to be a revolutionary upgrade to the current Kindle, and it will most likely be marketed to compete directly with Apple’s iPad.

Amazon has its own music, movies, books, and online retail infrastructure to go head-to-head with Apple, but what it apparently won’t have is similar multi-touch support. While the iPad’s touchscreen display supports 10-finger gestures, Amazon’s tablet will only support 2-finger gestures… Read More

Apple Removes 3G iPod Touch Clue From Its Website, Slipup or Something More? [Updated]

by Alex Heath on Jul 26, 2011

This morning we told you about an interesting clue on Apple’s website that hinted at a future iPod touch equipped with 3G data connectivity. An iPod touch with a 3G signal indicator in the status bar was displayed on Apple’s own website, and we thought that it was maybe just an honest mistake by someone in Apple’s web design department.

Apple apparently got word of this slipup, too, and they’ve just replaced the very same graphic with a Wi-Fi-only iPod touch! Read More

Hilarious Target Ad “Leaks” the iPhone 5

by Guest Author on Jul 26, 2011

We’re not sure whether the iPhone featured in this Target ad is the work of a smart jokester in the retailer’s art department, or whether someone has inadvertently leaked an image of the iPhone 5, but either way, this is interesting — especially because it seems to tie in with those iPhone 5 case designs we published earlier.

As you can see from the picture above, the iPhone in this image shares some resemblance with the iPhone 4, however, in some ways it’s different. Most notably because of those curved edges and curved back, which seems to taper towards the bottom. Read More
