Making Terroristic Threats Against Apple Will Never Help Fixing Your iPhone

Although I've typically had enjoyable experiences with Apple Store staff members, that doesn't seem to be the case for everybody. I've come across several stories where customers have left Apple Stores extremely upset with its employees.

One of the most interesting tales I've come across lately was featured in a recent TUAW article. If you haven't heard the story of Joe Lipari and his infamous Apple Store-Facebook-rant turned felony, you might want to keep reading...

‘NewContact’ Allows You to Add Contacts Using Activator Gestures

Do you always find yourself moseying into the Contacts app to add new friends, family, and acquaintances?

Doing so can be somewhat of a clunky affair, especially if you need to do so while in a hurry.

NewContact is a jailbreak tweak available on Cydia that takes some of the thought process out of adding new contacts to your iPhone's address book...

iOS Proves Much More Secure than Android

You don't have to be around computers very long before you hear the word Symantec. The security company is responsible for the popular Norton AntiVirus software suite, among several other utilities.

Like the rest of the PC world, Norton is trying to stay relevant in wake of a huge industry swing towards mobile products. So the security firm recently did some research on the different ways that Android and iOS handle security methods. Guess who wins?

Samsung Asking for an Import Ban Against the iPhone, iPad and iPod

And the piss contest between Apple and Samsung shall continue. Later last month, a San Jose, CA judge ruled that Samsung should give 5 of its latest devices to Apple’s legal team for them to make sure those devices do not copy the iPhone in any way. Samsung requested the same from Apple but the court quickly denied the claim.

Today, FOSS Patents reports that Samsung filed a complaint against Apple before the International Trade Commission (ITC), asking for an import ban against the iPhone, iPad and iPod...

The iPhone Turns 4 Years Old Today

On January 9th of 2007, Steve Jobs unveiled the first ever Apple iPhone to the world. Adorned in his standard black-turtle-neck-and-blue-jeans attire, Jobs announced the new device to thousands of Macworld attendees.

The Apple CEO started off the epic keynote by saying the famous lines, "This is a day, I've been looking forward to for 2 and a half years. Every once in a while, a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything..."

A Wedding Filmed and Photographed Entirely on iPhone 4

No, this is not my wedding, although the location strangely looks similar to where Tina and I got married. I had thought about having the person who married us read her speech on my iPad 2 but I believed it could have been a bit tacky.

What I hadn't thought about was to get our wedding recorded entirely on an iPhone 4. And that's what this couple did. They hired professional photographers and videographers that shot pictures and videos of the wedding using several iPhone 4...

iOS 4 After One Year: Running on 95% of iPhones

About a year ago, iOS 4 became available to the public with Apple releasing it to iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G customers. It seems as if many iPhone customers are up-to-date with all of their software, as a whopping 95.59% of Apple iOS distribution by versions are already iOS 4.

Some people are still on iOS 3 - 4.22% of iOS devices in use are still running iOS 3 - but we presume that most of these are original iPhone owners (remember Apple left the 1st generation iPhone out of the picture for iOS 4)...

Apple to Ship 30m iPads, 17m Macs in 2011 Claims Analyst

Those analysts do just love to analyze, and once again we're faced with one such guesser expert and his estimates for Apple's iPad, iPhone and Mac sales as well as the big one - how much money will the boys in Cupertino rake in this year?

The analyst we're looking to this time is Needham and Company's Charlie Wolf, who believes both iPad and Mac sales will be higher than first anticipated, while iPhone sales will actually be lower than originally forecast...

iOS 5’s Hidden Twitter Functionality Hints at More to Come

Just before Apple's big iOS 5 reveal at WWDC a few weeks ago, rumors began circulating that Apple was planning to integrate Twitter right into the system. At the time we didn't know whether the rumors were true or not, let alone how deeply integrated it would eventually turn out to be.

When Steve Jobs and his band of merry men took to the stage at WWDC, we finally saw what Apple had in store for us, but despite iOS 5 largely hitting the spot we couldn't help but feel let down by the fabled Twitter integration, at least in its current form...

Google unveiled a new tool for developers today called Swiffy — a simple converter that takes .SWF Flash files and transforms them into iPhone-friendly HTML5 code. It's the latest experimental application to hit Google Labs, and while it works best with simple Flash animations, its results are rather impressive.

‘Ergo HD’ DreamBoard Theme Aims to Innovate With Ergonomic Dual Hand Navigation

Today we're going to talk about something a little different in the theming universe. I'd like to introduce to you a DreamBoard theme called ErgoHD.

Now this isn't your typical iPhone theme for a number of reasons, and the first reason of course being that it's a DreamBoard theme and not your run of the mill WinterBoard affair.

Secondly, Ergo HD is aiming primarily at the non-ambidextrous demographic, seeing as its main selling point is being able to use it comfortably with either hand.

Sound interesting? Then check out this video walkthrough of Ergo HD...
