It’s been a long, long time… but change has finally come, and Orbit has been updated to support iOS 4.

Orbit, as you can probably recall, is the jailbreak app that allows you to initiate an iPhone Exposé mode using an Activator action.

It has been sitting in limbo for over a year waiting for iOS 4 support, and that support finally came a few weeks ago when ‘Orbit for iOS 4’ appeared out of nowhere on the Cydia store.

With its recent resurgence, we figured now would be as good of a time as ever to recap why this app is worth checking out…

Orbit is a simple, but very effective jailbreak app that requires a jailbroken iPhone. It allows you to access any page on your iPhone by means of an Exposé like view. You can invoke this view by means of the Orbit app itself, but the most sensible way of using it is in tandem with Activator.

In this video I assigned Orbit to open whenever I double pressed by Home button. Obviously, this disabled the app switcher, but it was more for demo purposes than anything else. You’ll no doubt find an activation method that works for you.

Orbit is free for those of you who purchased the previous version for iOS 3.x. For all others, it’ll set you back a reasonable $1.99. Keep in mind that it does require you to at least be on iOS 4.2 or higher.

Are you a longtime Orbit user, or are you new to the world of iPhone Exposé? Let me know in the comments below.

    youtube video is broken

  • Ben

Looks kinda laggy with folders on the page. Also kinda pointless for an iphone…

  • Shawn

    Overview is better than this.

This is too funny. What took the author so damn long to update Orbit to support iOS4? Hello, iOS5 is on the horizon already, and when iOS5 is out, it’ll break Orbit again, then we’ll have to wait until iOS6 for Orbit to be iOS5-compatible?

Hahaha that was hilarious! That’s kinda true! It’s not like it’s kinda like the white iPhone 4!

    • iLoveDubstep1337

      Orbit works with iOS 5

  • Aaronieru

What’s the difference between this and Overboard?

    • FrankBlack

The difference is Overboard (which has worked on iOS4 since day 2) p0wns Orbit!
And you never have to worry about support or going almost a year without an update.
      Sayin…

  • it also work with iOS5 beta.
