Tired of tapping that dreaded refresh button whenever you want an update to the latest happenings in your Reeder app?

Fret no longer; the perfect jailbreak tweak for you has arrived in the form of Pull To Sync for Reeder.

As its name implies so accurately, Pull To Sync for Reeder throws an additional syncing/refreshing option into the mix for your favorite Google Reader client.

Now instead of solely relying on that little refresh button in the bottom right-hand corner, you can let your thumbs do the talking with pull down to refresh capabilities…

As you can probably gather, there’s really not a lot to this tweak besides the alternative style of refreshing.

One thing that did particularly bug me is the fact that you can only use the pull down feature when you’re in Reeder’s main view. Hence, you’re not going to be able to use pull down to refresh in ‘All Items’ view, or inside individual feeds.

While that is kind of a bummer, perhaps I’m in the minority when it comes to the way I view my feeds. I normally like to view everything combined instead of venturing in and out of particular feeds.

For a positive spin on things, at least this gives the developer something to improve with his tweak; though, it stands now, it’s quite capable and performs largely as expected.

Pull To Sync for Reeder is a free jailbreak tweak for those of you who are rolling with jailbroken iPhones, and it can be downloaded on Cydia.

Are you an avid Reeder user? Have you tried this tweak yet?

Who needs this when pulse news reader already does this and it’s free

    • JustSomeGuy

Hey, maybe because people like choice. Go sit down boy. You bother me.

    • JustSomeGuy

So I tried Pulse. I can tell you why people go through this for Reeder now. Pulse is shit.

    • QuarterSwede

Pulse is AWFUL if you read anywhere over 50 articles/day. I can go through 150 headlines from 10 sites/feeds and weed out what I want to read within 5 minutes.
Pulse is pretty but it’s only for the light reader. Reeder, however, is worth it’s weight for those that want/need to digest a lot every day.

If you knew how to configurate it is better than reeder maybe you’ll know what a rss reader is one day go play with some other guy you amateur

  • QuarterSwede

I can see why the Reeder dev doesn’t add pull to refresh to the app, and Jeff you alluded to it. If I’m reading an article and want to go back to the previous one, pulling down on the page goes to the previous. Pull to refresh would interfere with that, current, functionality.

Pull to refresh is so natural though that I’d be disappointed if Apple didn’t make it a standard in iOS 5.

stopped using reeder for IreadG (much better app) yesterday and it already has this function. Too bad it wasn’t released a day before…lol

I’m still waiting for the Mail.app tweak that brings Reeder’s “slide right to mark as read” functionality to my email.
