Apple has released iOS 4.3.1 for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. If you “Check for Updates” in iTunes, you will now have the option to download and install the latest version of iOS.

iOS 4.3.1 fixes multiple bugs relating to graphics, enterprise authentication, and cellular connection glitches. Nothing that significant is contained in this latest build of iOS, and if you jailbreak, you’ll want to hold off from updating.
4.3.1 is a minor upgrade to iOS, and it is not currently available for the Verizon iPhone.

To reiterate, if you upgrade to iOS 4.3.1, you will lose your jailbreak. Don’t feel like you’re missing out though; you’re better off waiting for a larger update (with a compatible jailbreak).

Check out our Downloads section for direct links to iOS 4.3.1.

Will you be updating to 4.3.1? Or are you waiting for an updated jailbreak solution? We most likely won’t see a jailbreak for 4.3.1. Hackers are probably holding off for the next major release of iOS.

Will not be updating but hope this means that the jailbreak for 4.3 will be released so I can jailbreak my iPad2. I couldn’t care less about updating my iPhone 4.

  • im staying with 4.2.1 till 4.3 is Officially jailbroken.

    • Ditto. Doesn’t matter what new features they put into it, if it’s still Apple-locked, it’s worthless to me.

  • RadRique

Yup, not updating my iPad2 in hopes of a 4.3 JB soon. Also hoping to update my iphone4 from 4.1 soon, I decided to skip 4.2 and wait for 4.3

  • jlowry

Any word if it fixes the battery drain? Would love to fix this issue on my iPad 2.

  • ejm2323

If I hear they fixed the battery drain I’ll upgrade immediately. Otherwise my 4.3 jailbroken with sn0wbreeze is gold.

  • JimmyK

Desperate for a 4.3 jailbreak! I’m currently on 4.2.1 jb with greenpoison but my camera has stopped working and I’m sure that I’ll be given a replacement iPhone on 4.3 if I go to an apple store! 🙁

    • Daniel Ellerbrock

Might want to replace it now otherwise you’ll get one on 4.3.1 NASTY FATE

  • prout1418

I just want to tell the writers how much I respect and apreciate your work. Not only do you keep me updated on iPhones news but you put the most important information up front so that I don’ make beginner mistakes in my jailbraking adventure.

    thank you very much!

  • Apple don’t want you to jailbreak ur iphone, that is why they keeep updating so often.

    • Man your a genius Tito you cracked the code you figured it out!!! All these years and it was only you who figured it out!!

  • AppleBits

Stupid question here. But I’m on 4.1 on my iP4. Is there a way to still upgrade to 4.2 and then jb?
    Thanks!

    • Burge

If you have your shsh saved then yes..use tinyumbrella to get your shsh from Cydia sever …then start tinyumbrela ..and update …read all the Info you can before you do this…it will tell you how to use and update with out going to 4.3/4.3.1

      • AppleBits

Thank you! Yes, my SHSH’s are saved on Cydia. I see the link on here to download the 4.2 iOS, so after a little research, I’ll probably move to that. I also have the latest ver of TU. Any opinion on the best and/or easiest jailbreak? Thanks!

      • Burge

        Greenpoison

      • AppleBits

Done! Did a bit of research first, but it worked perfectly! Thanks for the pointers!! 😀

    • Burge

Oh yer ….that has been said before….

    • Burge

Other thing is if you friend is so in the know ,ask him what iOS 5 is going to be like and will the i5 have NFC and will it have a bigger screen and will it be in white and is elvis still alive …hahaha …lmfao…

  • Kilo

No need to wait for dev team baseband unlock for 3.10.1 gevey sim unlocks that baseband now

  • Even with gevey people still want the jailbreak!!!

  • Bytenapple

Already have all I need on 4.2 with Airvideoenabler and all the other 4.2 Cydia tweaks. I’ll most likely wait for 5.0 when the next generation iPhone is released. Just waiting for an unlock now so I can sell my i4 for more $ to get an i5.

  • Yes, you are right about this

  • smson

does anyone know if the Gevey SIM unlock work for iOS 4.3.1? Anyone tried? I have a Gevey sim that’s unlocking my iphone 4 4.2.1 and it is confirmed also working on 4.3.

  • preeti22

As with iOS 4.3, 4.3.1 is compatible with the iPad and iPad 2, the
iPhone 3GS and GSM iPhone 4 (not the Verizon Wireless iPhone 4), and the
third- and fourth-generation iPod touch. The update is available only
via iTunes; download sizes are in the 500 to 600 MB range, so schedule
some time for it if you don’t have a high-speed Internet connection.
