Top 6 Reasons the iPad 2 Sucks

By , Mar 9, 2011

As usual, Apple has seemingly created a juggernaut as tablet competitors are already going back to the drawing board after the March 2nd announcement. But is all the media attention and strategic marketing enough to crown Apple the king of the tablets?

Maybe. Although they might have done enough to please the fanboys, I’m going to play devil’s advocate and give you 6 good reasons why the iPad 2 sucks.

Screen Resolution

Rumors were flying left and right about the iPad 2 housing a Retina display, same as the iPhone. The iPad 2 will actually retain the same screen resolution from the iPad, so no upgrade there. With HD video recording capabilities and an iMovie.app, why wouldn’t you want a nice, sharp screen to view your content?

Weak Cameras

Where’s FaceTime HD? Apple’s latest MacBook update added FacetimeHD, a High Def version of their popular video chat app. The rear camera on the new iPad says HD, but doesn’t give megapixel count. There is also no LED flash. Apple mentions advanced backside illumination anyways for better low light shots, but I would prefer an LED flash.

Aging 3G Technology

We saw it with the iPhone. Apple tends to not jump on new wireless network technology. iPhone 3G came about a year after areas were seeing 3G speeds. The optimistic were hoping to see 4G LTE in the new iPad. But with battery life and reliability still questionable on the new technology, they decided to stick with the aging 3G technology. You could have at least built the hardware in and give users the option to upgrade at a later time, when 4G was in more markets, like the Motorola Xoom tablet

Still No Expandable Memory?

Some of the earlier iPad 2 rumors suggested it might have a Micro SD card slot for expandable, removable memory. Well we haven’t seen it on a mobile Apple product yet. iPods, iPhones, and the iPad have all had SSD drives with no option to upgrade. Many, in fact all, of Apple’s major smartphone and tablet competition house MicroSD card slots so it’ll be interesting to see if they ever cave.

Still No I/O option?

We were hoping to see USB or even Thunderbolt (Apple’s new lightning fast I/O) come to the iPad 2 but all we got was an HDMI chord. Which is nice, don’t get me wrong, it just would have been nice to get an actual USB port to read jump drives, and attach cameras and other peripherals without the need for adapters and OS tweaks.

Still No Flash

Now there was nobody expecting this to change. Apple has made its beef with Adobe’s dominant web platform, Flash, very public. In fact none of Apple’s iDevices run Flash. But 80% of the 100 most visited websites use Flash. Although it hasn’t seemed to affect sales at all, all of Apple’s major competition in the tablet industry are Flash capable.

Now all that being said, I think Apple’s new iPad will be very successful. In fact, I’ll probably sell my original iPad on eBay and go and get the iPad 2. But I will only be paying $100 difference or so. If I had to shell out another $500 for the iPad 2, I wouldn’t do it. This model doesn’t have enough new features to justify spending that kind of money, again.

Do you think the iPad 2 sucks? If so, or if not, raise your voice by leaving a comment below.

Decent job at being the Devil’s Advocate, but there’s a perfectly fine explanation for all of those reasons and how they will be corrected in each of their respected appropriate timeframes.

    • zack barrett

Obviously apple and there creaters have stumbled apone’s all these defects that should be in the ipad2 but in the end we all know thelle Mae the ipad300 finally with flash and sutcch u know its all about moneybaby

  • Eric

” In fact none of Apple’s iDevices run Flash. But 80% of the 100 most visited websites use Flash” this Ilis a flat out lie. While plainly technically true 80% of thie web has been converted to html5 so when it detects an iOS device it plays it perfectly. Without the battery drain, security risks, an crashing. Flash is dead. Get over it.

    • Justasaint

I am constantly annoyed by the fact Flash is missing from the iPad I borrowed from work. We’re not children, Apple should give users the option to turn it off or on – and allow us to assume the “risk” and accelerated battery drain that comes with Flash. It’s a dealbreaker for me, Apple’s ego and greed have gotten out of control. Flash is so far from dead, it goes WAY beyond being a video player – it drives alot of site interfaces still, it’s the engine behind most interactive online applications and games, and the fact is HTML5 cannot even come close to the functionality, I’m skeptical that it ever will. I know the millions of iPad customers are thinking the same thing as I am (even the fanboys)…you know, it’s probably just a way to sell more iPads…first no camera, then a crappy camera, next a better camera, then maybe Thunderbolt, then maybe Flash. I for one will not be suckered.

      • J

I’m pretty sure the lack of flash isn’t just about battery time or slight issues that could be cleared up by flipping some off-flash switch.. but once flash capable then you would have flash APPs… That does not ONLY mean you could bypass the app store and cost apple by not purchasing through it’s portal…. But one of the reasons iPads (and all their machines) run so well/efficiently/stably is the control that apple maintains over the software/hardware.  Introducing uncontrolled apps into the mix would lower the performance, possibly cause major issues and the hardware would often get blamed.  Think about how much praise Apple warranties and customer service get for being great… because they operate in a semi controlled environment.  It’s basically the trade off you make buying Apple machines.  One of the biggest reasons apple laptops and desktops run so well is because of the OS is practically tailored for the hardware.  I’m sure it’s a similar principle only magnified with the iPad.  With PC machines you get a one size fits all OS which has advantages as well but certainly comes with plenty of draw backs.  Hence apples success in the market place.  The real test for the other tablets will be after their are out for a while to see what the feedback is on the issues/warrantees/etc.

      • J

Ps the cover on the iPad 2 is shit for anyone has lives in a real world. I literally took the cover off my iPad 1 and even though it doesn’t fit correctly or put the machine to sleep, i use it for my iPad 2.

      • Justasaint

I agree, it’s more about pushing users to the ‘App’ where they have control in order for Apple to get paid (either by a portion of paid-for Apps and/or a percentage of subscribed-to content) and limiting the capabilities of the open and free web browser as much as possible.

Let’s face it, this isn’t about performance or customer satisfaction…. it’s about greed, plain and simple. I’ve been an Apple user for many years exclusively, this new direction for them is very disappointing.

Onto better things… check out this Android tablet by ASUS, very impressive – http://bit.ly/gvhV6l

its not apples ego and greed if you don’t like the apple products simply don’t buy them trust me they have plenty of loyal customers.. every product or companies are going to have haters but you just bagging on them because of their EGO and their greedy .. why are they millionaires then?? why do people keep coming back for more if flash is such a deal breaker apple is pretty good about fixing things in update and listening to feedback and taking it strongly into consideration your just ignorant especially after steve jobs died,, no one needs your two cents

    • http://Stvnbrand@aol.com Stev

The ipad2 sucks because it is a lie. Just like Pizza Hut’s $10 any pizza any topping deal. They are flat out lying! You can’t get what you want. Stuffed crust pizza for $10, and your ipad2, are lies. Unless you buy more app’s, or pay extra for your pizza, you can’t have what you want. They are flat out liars. They lie. What more do you need to know? Buy something with flash. You will be happier!

      • Anonymous

your comparing apple to pizza hut haha okay your just angry at the world sorry you didn’t get your any pizza any topping for ten dollars but that has nothing to do with the iPad i know your just saying their LIARS and its your opinion i just think the comparison is hilarious

    • Everyone

      “Eric”,

      Flash is dead? What? Sarcasm?

you are a fuckin retard. Go hang yourself. You’ve been on mommies computer long enough. Not hard to tell you don’t understand flash and gobble down every bit of advertisement bullshit that apple feeds you. Keep paying big boy!

    • bluscarab

Lie. I have the iAbandonware iPhone/Pad/Pod etc and all of the flash sites are not displayed properly. And your information on html5 being a battery saver is WRONG. HTML5 is a BIGGER battery drain than flash. In fact, here are the results:

      Mac using Safari HTML5 = 12.4% CPU
      Wintel using Safari Flash10.1 = 7.4% CPU

The worst thing about HTML5 video is that your computer and browser will need the correct video & audio codecs to play the darn videos that 13 year old Peter from Michigan uploaded using Ogg video with mp3 compression – or the video from Mike in California who uploaded a H.264 vid with AAC surround sound. If you don’t know what a codec is or how to find and install them, you’ll be one frustrated user. Flash on the other hand requires just ONE plugin that allows all users in every country to enjoy any video displayed through any browser that loads plugins – even IE6 running on a Pentium III built by me in 1999 – and still running strong!

    • I Hate Apple Fanboys

      @hkyoon

You do realize that the Acer W500 can CHARGE and Upload songs onto the Ipad 2. The Acer W500 has 2Gb of DDR3 Ram, The Ipad 2 has 512Mb of DDR2 Ram. The Acer W500 has Hd resolution and better resolution. The W500 has FULL windows 7 and can pretty much do anything on the go. The W500 has 2 Usb 2.0 ports, The Ipad has none. The W500 has an HDMI port, The Ipad does not. The W500 has an SD memory card for additional storage (up to 64gb), The Ipad does not.

The only thing thats the Ipad has that’s better than the W500 is battery life and a semi better processor. Learn about tablets before posting. kthnx bai

    • Kurt

You are out of your mind. iPad without flash is useless for a significant portion of the Internet, newspaper sites, finance sites, sports sites. If you want an iPad as a Toyota fine, for most Internet sites still need a laptop. I understand flash shortcomings, mainly power drain, but until it is replaced, there is no alternative. I’d never recommend an iPad 2 to anyone.

  • Lol

    Wow. Shit article. Time vampire

  • bacteria82

    So true T_T

  • http://www.ipadbeans.com/ Will

I think most of the flash upset is caused by people who want to play free crappy online games anyway.

    • bwilson5

What else would you do on an ipad2….besides playing Angry Birds

  • HoneycombFTW

Only six reasons. . . we could easily add another ten to that list.

    • Pirates Suck

Please do then. And Honeycomb blows stinking, fuzzy, monkey balls.

  • designgears

The first things, camera and screen resolution are spot on. The rest is senseless bickering. 3G is current, 4G is bleeding edge, not fully rolled out by carriers. Still No Expandable Memory, that is like putting a floppy drive in a mac. Still No I/O option, camera kit, thats an i/o option, but really, why would want to carry a usb hdd around with you? get a laptop. No flash, well, out of your 80%, 80% of those fall back to html5 and work just fine on the iPad.

    • Suck_IT

The camera is not spot-on, it’s rubbish. And what the hell are you talking about ‘it’s like putting a floppy drive in a mac’? How can not having a MicroSD slot be anything but a drawback. If you have a 32GB GayPad, you could DOUBLE it’s memory capacity without adding any additional weight… And although 4G may be seen as ‘bleeding edge’ in the UK, it is up and running, and has been for a while, in lots of countries. And like you say, about 80% can fall back on HTML5. First of all the figure isn’t that high. Secondly, even if it was, that’s still ONLY 80%. If there was Flash you could have 100%… Case in point.

  • kokhean

I feel that the iPad 2 is just a minor upgrade to the iPad 1G. All the “new” features should have been in the first generation iPad. So it does not suck, but if it comes in the first generation iPad, other tablets wouldn’t have a chance against it.

  • Zimbo

Apple has left much room for expansion so that the iPad 3 can be less useless. And everyone seems to be ok with the fact that their new device cant do things that other devices can. Everyone knows apple is the king of “planned obsolescence”. They know how to make a product useless enough, that it will be outdated soon enough. Look at the hardware. You cant replace the battery. You cant swap or expand memory. What do you do when your battery has exhausted its recharge cycles?….. ummm replace the battery?

  • duff

Wow so much upgrade with the iPad 2 let go out and buy 20 of them.

  • Shaaaa

I have both the iPad 2 and the motorola xoom and they both SUCK!!!

    Get over yourselves losers!

  • WhatAboutMeBob

Provoking apple fanboys is so easy and so commonplace that I guess it’s become cliched — but still, the truth is the truth.

So why can’t you guys accept that the ipad2 SUCKS for (mostly) the exact same reasons the ipad 1 SUCKED. Namely, because tablet PCs, by definition, suck!

What in bejeezus is a an ipad good for? That is, what is it better at, or better for, than an iphone or a laptop??? Nothing, that’s what.

There is simply no need for an ipad in a world that already has smartphones and laptops. Just as, say, there is no need for a Segway in a world already full of bicycles and cars. Now, yeah, some doucheboys will ride the things around, just for the #*(@ of it, but no one pretends Segways are the next great thing… Do they?

    • bwilson5

      Exactly…

Who wants to pay $900 for over-priced outdated proprietary hardware??!?? Apple Fanboys: ” I DO… I DO”

I’d rather spend that on a decent laptop than some oversized iphone from honey I shrunk the kids….

Quote: “…apple’s products are the ultimate triumph of marketing over substance.” -MindlessMinion

      …This!!!!

      • Tag12171

        Since when are iPads $900?

    • disdis

HaHa this reminds me of the guy I saw a few weeks ago using his ipad at his table at a restaurant. Whats funny is he most likely thought people were impressed, while everyone is thinking ‘what a douche’.
Dont get me wrong, tablets are cool, but there are some places you just look plain stupid using one.

  • MindlessMinion

Wow, apple has definitely sped up the time it takes for something to become a “classic”. Never been a fan of proprietary corporate money makers that hype personal freedom while ensuring the consumer gets none of the same but I have to give jobs credit for one thing, apple’s products are the ultimate triumph of marketing over substance.

  • Nathan ta

I got my ipad2 on release day..I was very excited! until I find out It doesn’t support adobe flash. I got very disappointed and return it the next day. It suck!

    • disdis

Hey, I did the same thing. Different reasons for my return, but I was really disappointed.

    • Justasaint

      You dumb!

  • Davis Bradley

Yep, it’s awful. Samsung is a thousand times better and 100 bucks cheaper. The iPad 2 truly is a terrible device and I can’t believe billions of people have been completely deceived into purchasing the iPad 2. I know I never would. Well, I mean I did buy the original iPad and the iPad 2. I even bought one for my daughter. It’s kinda fun and great for teaching classes. But, seriously it is a terrible device and I would advise you not to buy it (like I did 3 times).

  • Hoot howell

That’s not all that’s lame about iPad …

Pages and GarageBand for iPad really left out some very important features. Like fricken folders in pages….and fricken time signature in GarageBand ….

    Apple…going down Microsoft path?

    Money money money….

  • iyoyouazz

I have to agree with part of the articel.. it does sucks, for the price i would not trade a macbook for the ipad in a million years, first of all the cheapest which is only wifi is $499 for? its nothing but a bigger iphone, just worst. buy the iphone and save u the remaining balance to pay for your bill since youll have 3g, sorry guys im an apple fan but not this time, have to pass, def agree that there another 10 reason to add to that list, buy a mac and you wont regret it.

  • Dan in CO

LoL everyone who buys these mac products is a sheep waiting for the slaughter. How is it that no one realizes how easily they are taking hundreds of dollars out of your pocket every year by coming out with a “new version” of one of their products. The Ipad has only been out for ONE YEAR and already we see the Ipad2 for the same price? That seems very fishy to me. I can’t believe one of the commenters on here claimed “flash it dead”. WAKE UP MAC FAN BOY! Flash is EVERYWHERE. You can’t watch half the videos or play half of the games online without flash you moron. This piece of crap doesn’t even have a USB! How the hell do you have a tablet PC or any type of PC without a god damn USB? Oh well I’m sure you can shell out another $20 to Mr.Jobs for an adapter so you can use your USB stick. Apple appeals to hipsters by seeming to be against the trends (no flash and no USB drive) but in actuality they are simply trying to get you to shell out extra money for their “solutions” to these missing features.

To sum it up, Apple had you wrapped around their finger if you’re running out to buy this thing because they probably had it ready to go before the first one was released and I suspect they already have the third Ipad ready to go and will release it after they’ve gotten enough of you to switch to number 2. They did the same thing with the Ipod. Apple buyers are retarded.

  • KamWest

Just got my iPad two a couple of days ago. I am already tired of it and find myself using my laptop instead. It’s great for traveling but why would I want to use reduced functionality app when I can use a nice powerful laptop at home? The iPad has been relegated to watch YouTube videos of Mogli for my little boy during breakfast.

It’s a nice toy but it has very little security if you want to keep things from a second user. I cannot even log out my email account unless I go to a web version. The mail app has zero security and a second user can activate the account at any time. It’s a perfect travel device for a single user but DONT buy it if you want to share.

All in all I would not buy another and don’t plan on ever upgrading unless they bring out something with multi-user support with higher processing abilities.

PS. Is it possible that there is no back arrow on this thing? If I try to backspace on a web address all I can do is delete. I find it almost impossible to change one letter of a web address. It keeps selecting a section of the address and showing copy paste. I can sometimes get the cursor where I need it but I really need a back arrow so I can change parts of a web address without having to delete back to where I need to make the change. Overall I think its made for tiny little elf fingers and I need a device made for adults.

  • Zachary

Yeah not worth it, it seems more like an iPad 1.5 than 2

  • JStern

If it wasn’t for the fact that I got the Ipad 2 for 70% off, I probably would not have bought it. HOWEVER I use it for note taking through Evernote, so now I can take my notes on a tiny Ipad and view them at my desktop at home. And like I said, the Ipad2 only cost me $152 instead of $499 so good deal over all. lol Thank god for Penny auctions.

And btw, CNET seems to LOVE the Ipads in comparison to other tablets, not that I can agree or disagree because I haven’t used them all.

    • YemSalat

      >> “I use it for note taking through Evernote, so now I can take my notes on a tiny Ipad and view them at my desktop at home. And like I said, the Ipad2 only cost me $152 instead of $499 so good deal over all”

Copybooks were invented decades before iPad, they cost under $5 and let you take notes, carry them around and even view them at home! (wow!)

I am really curious what is a good reason to by an iTablet?

  • Alfie

This guy is feeding you rubbish, first off, when this idiot says

  • genius

i have all the mac products u name it. n yes ipad2 sucks. apple is coming to a point where they need to “CHANGE” again. its time.

  • genius

i mlooking at blacberry playbook for a serious portable tablet which can host my business apps.

  • YemSalat

Why all the web is covered with Apple fanboys.
I wonder how they find such pages, do they search for “iPad sucks”? :)

  • KamWest

I just sold my iPad2 a few days ago. Some guy virtually gave me what I paid. It’s a nice little toy but not something I would ever consider spending that much money on again.

  • cp

I’d like to sell my Ipad2 also. Basically it’s a good product if your life revolves around social medaia and angry birds. But if you’re not in high school anymore, it lacks any capacity to run programs used in the real world. Very poor I/o capabilities, insufficient memory, no usb capability. I figure Apple, who could have make this a great product, doesn’t want it competing with the Airbook so it left it as a impotent toy for teens. Now I’m stuck with one.

    • Zac

I couldn’t agree with you more. The crap-book air runs 2gb RAM core 2 duo processor and 80gb SSD for 1100$! I can but an i5 6gbRAM 800GB HDD that’s has more than 1 USB port and built in enthernet port and. Cd drive that isn’t 50$ extra!

    • Bernie

      Right on

  • Harpman

I just had to send my back because it will not charge, only had it one day!…either from ac or USB. getting another one sent to me but what a hassle. Apple does not make a quality product anymore.

  • Ava

And still the iPad 2 was tested and named best Tablet PC on the market by several testers (That don’t take bribes, since I’m sure the next douche bag will say… >.> ). Whiners… Every site/store/demo model says exactly the info that would tell you all the 6 reasons above. Read and do some study before you buy a VERY expensive device, fools…

    • http://yemsalat.org YemSalat

I couldn’t agree more with the last sentence.

      • KamWest

Actually, the fool is the person who pays me full price for a device I took on vacation and used for almost two weeks.

I knew all the above points but did not know that the device only supports 1 user. I did not like not having multi user support. That’s a must given that two siblings or a husband and wife may want to use the device. Get that right and I may just come back.

By the way, I read the still camera was bad but that does not do it justice…. the still camera SUCKS TO THE POINT OF DISBELIEF. I swear I’ve seen paintings with better resolution.

      • YemSalat

This all just makes me wonder what is the next Apple’s move gonna be like.

Multy user support may ruin their marketing strategy.
Why buy two iPads for each person, when we can just use one.
“No no no, I don’t like it” – says Steve and makes a concerned face.

      • Ava

^-^ I think I’ll buy the Acer A500. As for the cam, I’ll use my iPhone4 for that. iPad may suck, the iPhone is very decent. Briliant cam on it.

  • kokhean

Just wait until this thing gets officially jailbroken.

  • http://VERYFRAGILE MIKE

The stupid ipad 2, i had it for 2 weeks, then the screen brake
it felt on carpet, then the screen is broken

u can not change the screen, do not try, it is one piece, u will destroy the ipad, the apple asked me for 350 to replace

if the battery is weak, the machine is over, u can not change any piece in the IPAD

piece of garabage, I am going back to my PC

    • Zac

Hey google search Asus eee pad ep121 and look at the specs, i5 dual core 4 gb ram 64gb flash memory and it’s 1000$

      • Anonymous

More like 1100 dollars for those specs. For someone like him he should just build another gaming computer and then go to various blogs and leave comments saying how his 25 pound desktop kicks the iPads ass.

      • Max Reisch

Of course a 25 pound desktop will kick the iPad’s ass if you put away touch functionality (a desktop is controlled using mouse and keyboard) and the portability (just try to carry around a desktop like this one :) The Asus and the iPad are two completely different animals, one runs ARM iOS and the other one runs Intel Win$hit.

    • Anonymous

The iPad 2 is not for a power user like you. Why did you buy it dumbass? Even an idiot would know if they spent money on the right thing.

  • Zac

GUYS DON’T BUY AN IPAD I FOUND A BETTER DEVICE SORRY FOR YELLING it’s called the Asus eee pad ep121 it has a i5 dual core 7.5hrs battery life and runs full blown windows 7 but it’s double the price of the iPad at 1000$ :/ I think it’s worth it

    • Tag12171

You forgot to mention the weight and size. That 7.5 hours is more like 2.

      • Zac

I’m positive it said 7.5 hours

  • http://ipadstory.net iPad Story

iPad is not Camera iPad is not a phone, iPad is iPad…

    • Suck_IT

Yeah, and other tablets are just tablets too, mate. However, they do have decent cameras, open source software, expansion slots, flash player & expandable memory. Oh, and they’re cheaper….

  • ukinayo

I just ordered the new toshiba tablet; so i would say everytime; AMERICAN DESIGNED MADE BY FOXCONN APPLE COMPUTERS OVERLY SUCKS!

    • I pad sucks

      True!!!!!!!!

  • Neil Walker

    you suck

  • James

I am an owner of the xoom, iPad 1, iPad 2, the rim playbook! I test these for work and they all have there own highlights! I am…not a fan boy of apple..I am a fan of what works! I like win 7 over mac osx any day of the week and twice on Sunday’s! However, the iPads are overall solution when it comes to stability and ease of use. Which will win the over all market place. So, the question begs “can mom use it?” That answer is yes and she will. Use it for it’s purpose, which is consumption of media. Buy a laptop, if you want to stick crap in a hole. Btw flash sucks the life from a workstation! The fact that it is a web plugin and it takes 1/2 of a CPU to run it is a huge adobe. Especially since the market wants, sleeker, faster, smaller devices!

    • http://yemsalat.org YemSalat

Speaking about the flash – I agree, it sucks pretty much.

But in terms of performance html5 is no way greater at the moment.
It sucks CPU and RAM just as much as flash does (and sometimes even more)

So I wouldn’t point out the “weight” of flash on the CPU as long as the alternative flaws in the same way.

    • I pad sucks

the thing is other tabs out there ,let you put crap in hole and they are flash compatible.
Why narrow down on your options!
      Freedom!

  • Nikolas

Look I am not a computer wizard or else I just an average consumer who happens to be like an option of connecting through usb because this type of connection is widely available, established and support by huge number of devises I am a person who likes to have the option of expanding the memory through SD card and transfer favorite pictures and all kind of files from SD card to my device because it is very simple and convenient. People who blindly support Apple can say whatever they what to defend and explain why no usb why no sd why no flash, no hdmi in my strong opinion it is just example of super duper marketing strategy from Apple where they (Apple) trying to sell you a very thin and no question, manufactured with high quality standards device that are lacking in functionality so basically it is easier(cheaper) to produce for Apple thinner, good wrapped device(toy), then pay fee for usb, sd, hdmi connectivity. However at the end of the day when you will need productivity from your device and not just a good looking toy look, I would prefer something more substantial that can be used today with today technology, connectivity and standards. Not just excuses from Apple’s experts with dumb explanation why not …… and in the future it will be…. and something like O you don’t need it because we will connect everything through thunderbolt connector….. our connector so we don’t pay anybody else… or like flash is not good enough because ….. Basically Apple for 90% is a huge marketing machine which I can give them quite successful.

  • Kwame Africa

I just Bought an Ipad 1 for over $800 at a mall in my Country GHANA, The attendant assured me this was the latest IPad only for me to find this Stupid Oversized Itouch doesn’t have a Camera on either sides whereas the iPad2 does have both. Worse of all Apple’s asking me to Upgrade to 4.3.3 and my Major HD apps which cost me a hell lot of time downloading.

Now i managed to sell my iPad1 and get an iPad2 and the stupid motherfucker still doesn’t really support Flash, Little difference between them, Facetime’s not an option since we don’t use that in Ghana and most of all it seems like the only reason they created iPad2 was with the HOpe that it couldn’t be JailBroken which unfortunately isn’t True.

The Ipad 2 looks sexy and it can be a fun toy but the way one has to jump through so many hoops to transfer files makes it just plain suck. When it comes to Apple I think the Emperor has no clothes!

I was close to buy ipad2 and found it does not play files from an external drive. I must pay $100 more for the next 16 GB space. GM nenver forces buyers to pay an exhorbitant price for just a bigger gas tank option. Apple treated customers bad and I resent this marketing trick.

Apple marketing idea for Macs: “Mr. Jobs, Mr. Jobs, I have a great idea! Why don’t we take some old, under-powered hardware, put it in a nice aluminium chassis, then double the price and hope that our mindless, sheep-like followers buy it??”

Mr. Jobs: “Sounds like a great idea, which perfectly fits in with our overall strategy. make it so.”

All of you people wishing for thunderbolt, it will never happen!
Thunderbolt is not actually developed by apple, but is actually a technology by intel first used by apple. Soon enough, there will be laptops popping up with thunderbolt-esque ports. So when the ipad gets an intel i7, we’ll see thunderbolt.

It sucks i 100000% agree its all marketing peOple!!!

  • DIC

IPADS AND SUCH ARE GAY, THEY ARE NANNY DEVICES FOR PEOPLE IN A NANNY WORLD FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE BEING TOLD WHAT THEY CAN USE ON A DEVICE THEY BUY.

    • I pad sucks

      True!

It’s funny that all these people hate something that’s simple and an os that’s simple! And easy to use! Sorry that people choose simple over complicated crap! I want virus, malware, adobe flash that gets patched twice a week and open os’s that never get patched and third party hacking IE… Honeycomb! You do not need a bunch of hardware upgrades if the device and the os are designed to be seemless! Look at web os and what hp did! Those devices work great!

    • Suck_IT

They don’t hate something that’s simple and easy to use. They hate something which has very limited features and costs more than the competition…

    • I pad sucks

Being simple is one thing, but what’s the use of simplicity if it’s not useful?
People buy a tab to surf the net, and if you can’t go and visit your favorite web site or any other site for that matter, how can it be useful to the user, I think I pad’s, simplicity = not practical.
Apple may ride high now, in time to come they will lose, especially in Asian markets.

The flash issue is a huge problem for me. I’ve already bought the $900 one. I’d like to shop online but there are just too many things that won’t open. If a product is so fabulous why is it acting like a spoiled child and taking it’s ball off the playground. Really disappointed.

God I bought a Asus ep122 for 1000$,sure it’s double the price but then again it does run windows 7 and has 2 USB ports

  • JustMe

The reason why Apple’s products still sell, despite their ineptness is because they know how to make people (falsely) believe their products are the sh*t…just like those drink Starbucks coffee or wear designer clothing think. System of a Down put it very nicely in a song, “mesmerize the simple minded”

Wow. I waited and waited to get an iPad to go with my company’s four MacBooks, one Macbook Pro, one Mac Pro, an old G4, and the dilapidated Dell PC.

I am sorely disappointed in Apple’s bloated oversell marketing approach to the iPad, and truly feel misled and deceived. It was apparently my failure, and erroneous assumption that th iPad 2 had no rudimentary print document feature. BF Duh. While I was willing to give Pages a try, (we prefer MS Word on our Macs) I found that iOS did not recognize one of our well known color laser printers. So, I purchased more downloads to ensure compatibility, alas, no.

Who the !^^!!?! has time to home to sneaker carry the iPad2 to the desktop, Baedeker in via USB, port over the frigging tyrant ITunes, just to print a one page contract? Apple, are you kidding me???? And no, it won’t sync via blue tooth. And, why should it have too. Geezus. This is going backward, to the eighties perhaps?

I also assumed, stupidly so, that my QuickTime files would be scrubbable on the iPad2. Nothing li ke a little quick media whack and hack on the fly to fine tune later on the PM in FCP. But NOooooooooooo! Again, Apple, are you fng kidding me??!?
I have a $1000 iPad, several hundred more in pathetic non full functioning downloads, and still, it’s an overpriced emaill pad, no printability, no QT, noFlash, One cannot even send a simple JL e card.
A $200 eMachine would have done the trick, only I didn’t need one. I thought I needed an iPad. NOT. My advice, and one I actively share with my students is this: Do not get an iPad until these issues are resolved, better go get a cheap laptop and call it good. Shame on you Apple.

    • I pad sucks

      True ! well said !

  • I pad sucks

Unfortunately I brought an I pad 2, and it was very very disappointing, does not sync via blue tooth, does not read memory sticks, fortunately sold it and got out,
That would be the first and the last time I buy an apple product.
I feel as if apple is trying to force things on you, Apple I pad 2 is a great example for a dictatorship in tabs, no freedom. Waiting for Samsung galaxy 8.9 to come!
For people outside US and who are use to PC’s , I pad is real nightmare!
