I’m not going to say that I told you so, but you know, I kinda did. One of BGR‘s sources at Apple shared some interesting numbers about Verizon iPhone sales on its first week, and apparently, the numbers are lower than both Apple and Verizon anticipated.

If that’s any indication of the sales trend, BGR’s source states that there were about 550,000 iPhone 4 pre-ordered between Verizon and Apple and maybe even more interesting are the sales numbers for 5 Apple Store combined on the first week, including 2 major stores (most likely including the iconic Apple Store on Fifth avenue)…

  • Thursday: Verizon = 909, AT&T = 539
  • Friday: Verizon = 916, AT&T = 680
  • Saturday: Verizon = 660, AT&T = 471
  • Sunday: Verizon = 796, AT&T = 701
  • Monday: Verizon = 711, AT&T = 618

That ain’t much, especially when you know these are the sales of 5 stores combined.

Someone at AT&T is smiling looking at these numbers.

People will be buying these as more people become eligible for an upgrade. Every time you mention Verizon in an article, it is in a negative connotation.

    • Why you crying?

      Just the truth!

  • Verizon Guy

You guys are biased! I have been reading this site for some time, but I am about to stop! So what if Verizon has not sold as many iPhones. This means nothing about there network. It is a great phone and if you want 3G most of the time Verizon has it. AT&T has faster 3G but “only in select markets” as their website states. Verizon has 3G almost over their entire network. Verizon also is advancing their network way faster than AT&T is. Please iDB be more fair with articles……….. I am not trying to cry about anything. I have an AT&T iPhone and I am switching to Verizon ASAP!

    • easy there, its just an opinion. no need to start a bar-fight over this.

Besides that, it’s because everyone will keep their upgrade ability to get the iPhone 5. I got the 4 with Verizon because I didn’t want to wait for the 5, but easily can sell this one on cragis. I don’t think they bias, I just think it’s them trying to tell people that the phone was over hyped. Steve Jobs wasn’t even at the press conference when the iPhone 4 was mention on big red. It’s just how things are. I think both phones are great, but personal experience I like my Verizon one better. I have no drop calls and I can make calls without readying myself to have to call back someone because the call failed or have to worry because data won’t load. This is even better because that means AT&T will still have bandwidth users stuck, so data doesn’t speed up. In the end, it works out. When the iPhone 5 comes out, and Verizon uses that “4G” (improved 3G) and we can use data & voice, we will see Verizon will sell more then AT&T. I feel Verizon will get more since AT&T data is not going to change any time soon. My 2 cents

What’s the problem with buying 2 iphones???

    • manuel

Waste of money, carriers money, contract tie downs.

I guess most of the people not rushing to switch over or buy Verizon iPhone because:

    1. CDMA is an outdated technology with so much limitations when compared to what you can do with your GSM iPhone and CDMA iPhone. Surely this is the reason I am not switching from AT&T to Verizon.

    2. People very will aware that Apple will be coming up with a newer model in summer and those who buy now will be outdated in June (in less than 5 months). Therefore, those who are rushing to buy Verizon iPhone is those who are desperate to use on in Red’s network.

That was my personal opinion, please don’t start fighting with me now lol

Tmobile is getting iPhone in June confirmed by gizmodo…

Who really cares. Att is better. Verizon is crap. End of story.

Let’s face it we win as consumers with two choices. My AT&T business plan dropped $10.00 month. I have an AT & T cell tower 1/2 mile from house and office. Reception is excellant. AT&T rocks!
