Another day, another reason to jailbreak your iPhone if you haven’t already. The latest tweak is called PhoneHint. PhoneHint lets you do a quick contact search right inside the iPhone dialer.

Here’s how it works. Simply, swipe left to right over the dialer’s number display to select the right contact, then double tap to select the number. I can see this tweak saving me lots of time, especially when I’m rummaging through my Recent Calls list trying to find the right contact. PhoneHint does not add any new icons to your homescreen and can be configured from the Settings app.

One of the things iPhone was missing is now there! Quick contacts search from the Mobile Phone keypad! Just swipe Left / Right over the dialer’s number display to select the right contact, then double tap to select the number

No new icons are added to your homescreen. You can configure PhontHint from

PhoneHint requires iOS 4.0 or later and is available in the Cydia Store for $1.99 via the Big Boss repository.

I cant get this to work. whenever i swipe, instead of scrolling to the next number the copy/paste menu keeps popping up instead

    • BadboizEnt

Leave your hand on it for a sec n swipe left/right

thanks doing that seems to work, i was expecting it to activate similar to an SBS swipe 🙂 anyway now its working i guess its ok, would prefer a swipe to open a drop down box to choose rather than have to swipe through 30 or so contacts who share the same first few numbers.

How is this compared to ismart dialer?

  • Sherif

Kuaidial is much much more useful, only problem is its incompatible with 4.2.1 – I’m downgrading just to be able to use it once more, it’s indispensable to me 🙂

  • Darkhorse

Can’t make it work. How to stop the auto international prefix?

  • Demon

Nice theme !!! Does somebody know which one ? THX.

  • Chazz

only works if you start dialing the number, not if you dial a name. who remembers every contact’s number? how is this useful?? waste of money 🙁

    • StevO

I was thinking the same thing.

Hmmm, I just use bitesms’ call feature. A click of my volume button, a quick search of the name and then I press call.

I don’t think I even go into my phone app anymore… I even got ‘PhoneCloser’ so I don’t have to ever see it!!

This app seems like too much work.

    • CDXX

yea that works too… i always forget to use that feature, and end up going into my phone app… but i have startdial (set to keypad), together with ismartdialer.

Would love to know what theme that is…
