GreenPois0n Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 Released for Windows

Windows users rejoice! GreenPois0n has been released for Windows machines after seeing a few days of exclusivity for the Mac.

It was earlier today when we reported that the Windows version would make it to jailbreakers this weekend, and now the Chronic Dev Team has made good on its promises.

As with the Mac version, the Windows version of GreenPois0n can be downloaded from our downloads section.

If you need help using this jailbreak tool, feel free to use our tutorial, and our guide on installing Cydia if you run into issues with Loader.

Now that Mac and Windows users have an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.2.1, who’s next? Oh, that’s right, Linux.

If the Chronic Dev Team’s track record is any indication, Linux users shouldn’t have to wait that long at all. In fact there’s already a placeholder for Linux on their GreenPois0n website.

Again this should work with the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1.

    Because of this i lost my gps.
    Can I use this one to solve that problem?
    How can I change my firmware again?

      Install 3G unrestrictor and choose mobile phone – FaceTime in it’s settings. Worked for me. Good luck.

    Ok finally !!!!!!! Now, I think I know how to get all my jailbreak apps back but, how do I back up all the data in them??? I got some movie files from safari downloader, some tunes from YouTube to mp3, etc etc. It’s there an app or other Way to back all this up before I do the 4.2 jailbreak???? Plz HELP. Btw , love this site!! I’ve learning lots bout jailbreak stuff n everything about iPhone in relatibly short time. Thanks iDB!!!

    Works fine on the iphone 4 only snag ive found is that my bluetooth doesn’t work , is there anyone else with the same problem ? I did instal greenp0sion over my tethered redsn0w jb ……Not that i use bluetooth all that much but it is nice to have a fully working jailbreak …..

      why didnt you just do a retore on itunes then just jailbreak via greenpois0n ?
      might be ok then dont know worth a try as long as not above 4.2.1 !

    Hi guys thanks to the chronic dev team I’m finally untethered. I know some people have posted here asking about their 3GS. So to let you know I have a 3GS which was jbroken on 4.2.1 using redsnow and it was tethered. I also did the bb upgrade to 6.15 so I can unlock and use on T-mobile. Just wanted to letyou guys know that I just ran greenpoison on top without restore and everything works. Thanks

    cydia 1.0.3366- seems to stick at “downloading release.gpg” while updating. cannot update and add more sources, says cached failure, any suggestions???

        btw i tried this joey jojo…. i ran redsnow and i checked install cydia only and my phone rebooted and i tried cydia and it starting downloading the packages, it didnt get stuck sayin there was a failure

    Just jailbroke two itouches and one 3gs with no problems. Cydia showed up after all three jailbreaks. Each device works perfectly. My first jailbreak. Easy.

    Guys, as far as I know this will ONLY jailbreak your device. NOT unlock.
    I’ve done it on my 4.2.1 with 3.10.01 baseband and it’s working perfectly.
    My phone was already unlocked though and recently restored to factory.
    No issues with bluetooth, was using it earlier today without a problem.

    Worked perfect on first try iPad on 4.2 finally used airplay tweak it is very good very good although I still don’t want to try the iPhone 4 I just don’t really want to scramble my unlock if it ain’t broke dont fix it right?

    hey how come in the readme section of the greenpoison installer it says it doesn’t support iphone 3g???? and here in this forum it says it supports iphone 3g and in the tutorial they used an iphone 3g. so which is true? pls help!!! i have an iphone 3g ios 4.2.1 baseband 6.15 jb with redsnow

      I don’t know if it was a mistake on either part, but I will say that trying to run it with my 3G, I can’t get GP to recognize that the phone is in DFU mode. I’ve tried 15 times :)
      I have a 3G restored to factory with 4.2.1 and 5.15.04 FW.
