CameraWallpaper is a new tweak available in Cydia that lets you use the camera of your iPhone as your wallpaper, meaning that anything your camera sees will be displayed as your wallpaper.

As soon as you are on your iPhone springboard, you will see whatever is in front of your camera as a wallpaper. Thanks to an intuitive Activator integration, you will also be able to snap a picture at any time and use this picture as your wallpaper.

Confused about how CameraWallpaper works? Then check out the video below…

CameraWallpaper includes the following features:

  • Use your live camera as your wallpaper
  • Take a picture anytime from SpringBoard
  • Innovative control menu, activator-enabled
  • Toggle between front and rear camera
  • Turn the torch on/off
  • Set flash mode (auto,force-on,force-off) when capturing photos
  • Auto Focus
  • Auto Exposure
  • Auto WhiteBalance
  • Pause-resume camera
  • Auto-start modes
  • Battery saving options
  • Set video transparency so you can see your wallpaper in the back
  • Set icons transparency

The question on everybody’s mind now must be “what about battery life?” Well, obviously this tweak will drain your battery, but I guess it’s the price to pay for such an innovative mod.

CameraWallpaper is available on Cydia for $1.99.

If you give it a try, make sure to let us know what you think about it by leaving a comment.

        Thanks Seb!
        I’ve found it!
It turns out that I just have to wait for Cydia finish updating database
        I already installed it….pretty cool!

I installed it, seemed like a good idea at the time although no use for it looking at the floor in the background when on springboard but I always wanted one and now I got one I don’t see the point other than to show off which I won’t lol.

I was wondering when someone would come up with this app, after the “3D icons” and the moving background. Too bad I cant assign how to turn it on and off, that top menu where the person touches on the video already has 2 applications that are activated by touching that top bar.. I can’t see a 3rd app being activated, and I’d hate to activate the other 2 apps by accident.

Not a good idea in my opinion. Slightly interesting, but too gimmicky. It would get old fast. And DEFINITELY NOT worth the battery drain.

  • DomPerignon

Isn’t an animated wallpaper better and easier to use? An authentic battery drainer!!!

  • Jason masters

These guys have quite an imagination!

  • Not a bad feature for the younger generation of Iphone 4 holders, unfortunately for me it seems like an insane battery drain!

Works great love it you can switch, from front to back camera and change the opacity of the icons it’s too cool..
