by Michael on Jan 29, 2011

N.O.V.A 2 [iTunes Link] is the sequel to Gameloft’s hit game N.O.V.A. This game packs a large punch and offers ramped up graphics, vehicles, more enemies and weapons, and of course, more intelligent A.I.

N.O.V.A 2 offers 12 exciting action packed levels. If for some reason you don’t shoot your gun within 10 seconds of any part of the game then you’re probably camping. In addition, each level features gold orbs scattered or hidden and can be used to upgrade your weapons, abilities or health at the end of the level.

Your arsenal consists of a slew of familiar weapons such as assault rifles, shotguns, plasma guns, laser guns and what not. Your space suit lends you some nifty abilities as well, such as slow time, and a weapon that’s capable of putting the freeze on your enemies….

More Proof that Near Field Communication (NFC) is Headed to Future iPhones?

by Jeff Benjamin on Jan 28, 2011

Who wants to buy some apples with their iPhone? We do! We do! And it looks like the possibility of that happening has grown stronger in the last few months.

First, back in August 2010, Apple hired, Benjamin Vigier, who is an expert in Near Field Communications.

Then, three days ago we told you how Apple is indeed planning on including NFC in its future mobile endeavors; endeavors, which would allow users to make purchases directly with their handsets.

Now, Apple has posted additional jobs: one for a global payments expert, and one for someone with RFID experience. Is this just a big coincidence, or are credit cards destined to go the way of the dodo?

Infographic Confirms That iPhone Users Prefer Regular Apps Over Web Apps

by Alex Heath on Jan 28, 2011

Well, that’s a big shocker. Apparently iPhone users care more about native apps than web apps.

The guys over at Appsfire, a cool app discovery service, made an infographic report demonstrating how most users like regular apps over web apps. Appsfire analyzed 1,000 of its user’s devices to determine some insight into the web v.s. native app debate.

Web applications are becoming more and more advanced everyday, but they still can’t replicate certain functionalities of native iOS apps. The infographic from Appsfire is pretty self-explanatory. Let’s check it out…

Apple Hit With Yet Another Class Action Lawsuit, This Time Over the iPhone 4′s Glass

by Jeff Benjamin on Jan 27, 2011

Another day, another frivolous lawsuit originating out of California. This time, the plaintiff is L.A. County resident Donald LeBuhn, who filed the lawsuit in earlier in the week.

This certainly isn’t the first class action suit that’s been filed against Apple recently, but it probably tops the list as being the most ridiculous.

In the suit, LeBuhn claims that Apple hid the fact that day-to-day use of the iPhone 4 would eventually lead to cracked glass.

Well, if normal day-to-day use entails dropping your iPhone on concrete surfaces, you might just be right…
