The Verizon iPhone was finally announced this morning, and even though it doesn’t bring anything new to the table, some people will probably jump ships to leave AT&T for Big Red.

We created a simple poll to get a feel of what you guys are going to do. Are you going to flee AT&T? Will you stick to it? Please take a few seconds of your time to take this poll…

I think the majority of ppl willing to grab one is due to the area they live in and that AT&T in those areas blow. I’m happy with my bill at AT&T but not with service. We have no 3G, used to have edge here but now not even that. Verizon however has 3G here and so it’s tempting. With the boat loads possibly getting the iPhone for Verizon and possibly chewing up the bandwidth may be a concern, however when your in the same boat as I and my wife and we get nada, slow 3G is better than no egde.

Not right now. No simultanious data and voice is deal-breaker. If they have an LTE version available next year when I’m ready to upgrade, I’ll reevaluate the situation.

ppl are still going to buy it regardless of the 4g network because frankly the only 4g network that is widely used atm is tmobile, verizon will have the iphone 5 in july on its 4g network

  • sylvan

PEOPLE LEAVE AT&T , It sucks , I CAN DEAL WITH IT , JUST LEAVE IT FOR ME ,lol

    • Tom

best thing is just get contract free iphone and jailbreak and unlock it. Verizon sucks anyway u look at it and so does at&t. Better to pay from month to month. Unlimited talk and text 60/month a little high but what the hell im not glued for two years to one carrier and i can use it overseas wherever GSM is used and thats most of the world.

    we need more options..

I’m changing in the summer when the next iPhone is announced..

  • I left AT&T several years back for Verizon because everyone was telling me about the better coverage. I found Verizon very customer unfriendly and way behind the times with the phones they gave out. They were super conservative. And guess what? For most of the areas I was going to, the coverage was not any better than AT&T.
Once the two years were up, I switched back to AT&T and never looked back since. Customer service is superb and they are at the leading edge of the technology. Additionally, with the iPhone, AT&T has provided a good way to report areas of spotty coverage. It is called “Mark the Spot”. Every time I have reported a problem, I receive a response immediately (automated of course) and then when they solve the problem, I get another message telling me what was done.
Additionally, I travel abroad a lot. GSM (not CDMA) is the way of the world. Would never think of going back to CDMA again.
I am definitely an early adopter when it comes to technology and I love AT&T’s style and approach. The iPhone has been a great simplifier in my life.

leading edge of technology? hahahahahaha that halarious considering they are one of the last to introduce a 4g network and dropped unlimited data plans

    • Doughboy

I have to agree Verizon service is no better, just that people tend to think so. I have had Verizon twice and the last time I never looked back. I would actually go to sprint before I go to them. Overcharging, lies, bad customer service left a bad taste in my mouth. How can a company say their that great when they still work on old tech that does not allow you to be on the phone and internet at the same time. People are in for a rude awaking once their locked into those contracts. I would wait and see but actually nah everyone just sign up so I can have more bandwith lol.

    LOL LEADING EDGE IN WHAT?

METRO PCS HAS 4G BEFORE THEM. T-MOBILE EVEN BEAT THEM OUT. IF THEY WERE SO SMART,WHY WOULD THEY BASE THEIR COMPANY ON ONE PHONE? ALL PEOPLE WHO STAY ON AT&T DO IT BECAUSE THE IPHONE LOCKED THEM DOWN TO TWO YEARS LOL. BEST PART IS, THE ONLY REASON WHY AT&T USERS STAY, IS BECAUSE THEY HOPE THOSE WHO LEAVE WILL INCREASE THEY BANDWIDTH AND DATA SPEED. HOWS THAT SPEED CHOKING YOU BRO? LAST TIME I CHECKED, WHEN I WAS ON 3G IN NYC, I COULDN’T EVEN LOAD THE SMALLS HTML PAGE AND IT WAS TWITTER. TWITTER? LIKE HOW SMALL IS THAT SITE? THE EDGE MOVES FASTER THEN AT&T 3G AND THEY CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. IS THAT WHY THEY WERE RATED THE LOWEST OUT OF ALL 4 COMPANIES, SPRINT, VERIZON, AND T-MOBILE? MIND YOU, VERIZON GOT THE BEST IN EVERYTHING. I THINK MY POINT HAS BEEN MADE. TELL AT&T STOP LYING TO YOU ABOUT YOUR UNLIMITED PLAN. IF IT WAS TO GIVE USERS CHOICES ON DATA, WHY DIDN’T THEY KEEP THE UNLIMITED PLAN WITH THE OTHER TWO DATA PLANS? COULDN’T HANDLE IT? I THINK NOT

  • Takean

No. Edge does not move faster than 3G. I have been to areas that AT&T had 3G in and it was great.

  • 2meu

Im ok with my unlocked tmobile iphone.

  • Becky

    @ Takean

I think that was the joke. From experience, I can admit that a lot of the time the 3G network sucks, and my EDGE network at times is a lot faster then the 3G. Most of the time I’m in 3G service, but I rarely get pages to load, and if I do, It’s because I had to refresh about 9 times and shut my phone off and on. I know why the data is slow but don’t say your the fastest in 3G speeds when your clearly not.

  • Becky

By the way, Isn’t having an T-Mobile phone unlocked, kinda like having a CDMA phone? You can’t use data while on the phone, so I guess this is like having an unlock on your phone, but only with 3G and not Edge.

    • Jason masters

Well if your on wifi you can do data and a phone call I do it all the time but then again I live where wifi is plentiful I can see if people live in rural areas it’s one or the other

  • It’s funny that people actually believe that T-Mobile has a 4G network. They have a really fast 3G network and have no plans (yet) for an LTE or WiMax 4G network.

  • SoCoMagNuM

Sticking with AT&T. My local coverage is great so theres no reason to switch to loose benefits..like using voice and data at the same time. Yes verizon’s hotspot feature comes stock but my AT&T iphone does same thing jailbroken plus more.

Everyone has their own preference. Mines is AT&T. Simple and plain. Every problem i ever had was taken care of on the spot. Great customer service. Thats my opinion. Im entitled to that regardless who concurs. Its a poll so dont call people out just for having their own opinions.

    • old tom

      well said.
I’m staying put with AT&T as well.
local coverage here is great. locations I travel to regularly also have good coverage as well. no AT&T complaints here.

  • Jewmex5

I’m grandfathered with unlimited data plan so I’ll stick with AT&T, although verizon was at one point a long time carrier.

  • msxy

what i want to know is if i am in africa there is no verizon so as u said there is no sim to put ?

we have here zain as service could the verizon work with it ?

  • msxy

hey guys sony has sent papers for geohot and failover team lollll they are searching to on all blogs anything bigin with hack lolllllllll if sebastien just let me insult here sony u will see the whole page with infinit insult !!! go to hell SONY

    ur lovely msxy :p

  • anon1133

I don’t even live in the usa and my iphone isn’t locked to any carrier so the pool is broken

    • SoCoMagNuM

its obvious the poll is for existing AT&T or Verizon customers or person’s up in arms to see who they choose to be with since now they have an option. America doesnt sell unlocked phones so this poll is pertaining to the US. maybe the “pool” is broken but surely not the poll. if it doesnt pertain to you then the poll isnt for you lol. simple logic.

  • greytone

I can’t answer this poll correctly because while I’m not “fine” with AT&T I don’t intend to make my next phone purchase an Apple product.

    • SoCoMagNuM

what phone you see yourself purchasing in the farseable future then?

  • SoCoMagNuM

as of now out of 616 votes, 325 (52%) voted Sticking with AT&T…as i expected. theres people out there like myself that honestly dont have many issues with AT&T. i said “many” intentionally cause AT&T isnt perfect. so saying “any” issues would be idiotic.

theres also 32% waiting to see and only 15% jumping ship. i know this isnt a great representation of the entire AT&T network but im curious to see who many are actually contemplating on switching providers. us grandfathered in on unlimited data are crazy to switch (unless you dont get 3G coverage in your area) cause that would actually be a downgrade.
