Apple Photoshop Fail – Do They Know Their Own Products?

I just received an interesting tip about a pretty major Photoshop fail you can currently see on Apple's website. If you go to this page right now, you will see pictures of second and third generation iPod Touch's sporting the camera icon.

Only the 4th generation iPod Touch, which was recently released, is equipped with a camera. So this is definitely a major fail from Apple's web design department. I assume this will be fixed in the next few hours...

Finally, it's here...almost.  According to a press release ushered in from Apple, the long awaited iOS 4.2 will be released today. Reports point to 10am PST as the time when the download will go live, so set your stopwatches.

The big winners here are iPad owners, who finally receive multitasking capabilities on their tablets. But iPhone owners have a lot to be happy about as well, with features like AirPlay, and AirPrint making their debut...

How to Hide Your iPhone Photos and SMS

Those of you who don't have anything to hide won't care much about this, but if you have secrets to keep hidden from others, then the new jailbreak application HideEmAll might be the right tool for you.

The app description sells it as an app to keep you out of trouble. I like to look at HideEmAll as a way to protect some of your information from curious people, rather than hiding dirty pictures from your wife. I guess you can use it for both...

Apple Ditches Plans to Create Its Own iPhone SIM Card

Last month we got words that Apple was looking into dumping iPhone carriers by creating a unique SIM card that would be integrated inside the phone and that would allow people to buy the iPhone directly from Apple and choose a carrier via the App Store.

At the time I wrote about this, my concern was that carriers wouldn't be too happy about this move that would completely set them aside from the deal. It seems that I was right, as most carriers are telling Apple to go back to the drawing board, or else they might stop selling the iPhone...

How Fast is Your iPhone? Test It with This New App

Who's slower? You, or your iPhone? There is now a quick and easy way to find out with Device Speed Test, a new jailbreak application available for free in Cydia.

After installing the application, simply open it and the app will launch a few processes in the background to measure the speed of your device. It will then return green lights if everything is fine, or red lights for slower areas...

How to Change Your iPhone System Font

Up until now, if you wanted to change the default font on your iPhone, your only option was to use FontSwap, which unfortunately wasn't updated to work on iOS 4. Another alternative was to manually change the iPhone font via SSH, but that wasn't very straightforward.

Enters BytaFont, a new jailbreak application that allows you to easily change the font on your iPhone, system wide...

RedSn0w Gets an Update to Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 GM

PwnageTool is not the only jailbreak to get an update today. The Dev Team also updated RedSn0w to version 0.9.6b3 to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 GM which was released earlier this week.

It's important to note that this version of RedSn0w is mostly for developers. If you aren't much of a technical person, I'd suggest staying away from it. If you plan to unlock using UltraSn0w, you must absolutely stay away from it...

PwnageTool Jailbreak Updated to Version 4.1.2

A quick note to let you know that PwnageTool, the jailbreak for Mac OSX has been updated to version 4.1.2. PwnageTool is a jailbreak that lets you update your iPhone to the latest jailbroken iOS while preserving the baseband to make sure you can unlock.

According to the Dev Team, this newer version of PwnageTool should fix any issues that OSX 10.5.x users were encountering. If you used PwnageTool to jailbreak and didn't notice any Cydia issues, you do not need to do anything else...

Bad News: Your iPhone Wants Your Parents to Get a Divorce

A couple weeks ago, we introduced you to the new website DamnYouAutoCorrect.com, which compiles a bunch of hilarious auto correct suggestions by the iPhone.

We've all been there, typing and sending a text message to then realize the iPhone auto correct had changed a word, completely changing the meaning of what we wanted to say. This case is no different, but it sure is funny...

New Router Turns Your iPhone Into a Wifi Hotspot [No Jailbreak Required]

When I saw this article on Gizmodo titled "Turn Your iPhone Into a WiFi Router Without Jailbreaking", I had some serious hopes and expectations for what I was going to read. I imagined a device that would basically do what MyWi does to your iPhone, without having to jailbreak.

In a sense, the Nexaira Business Class II 3G/4G Wireless Broadband Router does just that. By plugging your iPhone into the router, you can instantly create a secure wifi hotspot using the 3G connection from your phone, and share this connection with around devices up to 200 feet around you...

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 GM with RedSn0w

Apple released iOS 4.2.1 GM to developers a couple days ago, and this new build can already be jailbroken using RedSn0w, as confirmed by Redmond Pie.

Even though the jailbreak process of iOS 4.2.1 GM is successful, it won't take you too far as Cydia doesn't work properly with iOS 4.2.1 and will crash at launch. If you know your way around the iPhone files, you can however SSH into your iPhone to manually install jailbreak applications.

Installing and jailbreaking iOS 4.2.1 GM is fairly easy, but it's worth noting you should stay away from it if you rely on an unlock for your iPhone. iOS 4.2.1 GM will update your baseband, and most likely make it impossible for you to unlock for a while.

This being said, here is how to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 GM with RedSn0w...
