Angry Birds Sequel in the Works?

If you haven’t noticed, we here at iDB are obsessed with Angry Birds. So of course we’re thrilled to hear there’s an Angry Birds sequel in the works!

But as any good salesman (and Rovio CEO Peter Vesterbacka) will say: that’s not all! Pocket-Lint reports that Vesterbacka was in attendance at the Virtual Goods Summit in London and spilled some details about what to expect. Here’s the rundown:

  • Angry Birds will be eventually be available on major platforms such as PS3, Xbox 360, and the Wii.
  • Sequel will likely be told from the pigs’ point of view. (Finally, a reason to explain why pigs steal eggs?)
  • Multiplayer version for the original is in the works, as soon as they figure out the best way to make that happen.
  • A new Facebook game is also in the works, and though it’s not Angry Birds itself, it’s in the “same world.” Some sort of spin-off, we presume?

It’s clear the Angry Birds mania won’t be dying down anytime soon. And we’re totally okay with that.

What do you think of the news? What are you more excited for, multiplayer or a piggy sequel? And are you looking forward to flinging birds across the screen with your Wii remote? And if for some crazy reason you haven’t already, download Angry Birds in the app store now!
