The “Fun Day” is arriving as Chronic Dev Team is working hard to release their first ever all iDevices jailbreak tool named GreenPois0n. It took them a while to release the Greenpois0n jailbreak as it was announced earlier this year but they were never able to push it out as promised.

Chronic Dev Team and their Greenpois0n were even blamed to be fake as they accepted donations but never made a release. Some days ago, they made a strike by revealing a new bootrom exploit named SHAtter Exploit. This achievement means that iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad are jailbroken for life until Apple introduces hardware change in the devices by replacing the bootrom.

The recent update by @pod2g who actually developed the exploit for a vulnerability discovered by @p0sixninja reveals that Greenpois0n is progressing steadily. The first release of Greenpois0n will jailbreak iOS 4.1. Obviously, there is no release date for Greenpois0n. Sit tight as an undimmed era for jailbreaking is soon to begin.

Just more reason to not have a AT&T contract 

  • Hey Sebas , what u reckon’ is the ETA of greenposi0n ? U are normally right in guessing these deadlines…

    • I appreciate you trusting my judgment, but I have to be a little pessimistic on that one. I think we won’t have a jailbreak until 4.2 is released. It’s just gut feeling, I might be completely wrong.

      • The chances for release after 4.2 would have been more bright in my view if it was not a Bootrom Exploit rather a userland Jailbreak.
Also pod2g responded to a person asking about iPad 3.2.2 that
        “That’s not boring 😉 Be patient : IPad 3.2.2 too !” []
which means the release should be before 4.2.

Note: I might also be completely wrong

I’ve been reading a few things and greenpison is just a tool to find exploits in ios firmware, it is not jailbreak tool and this is coming from them

    • It was first announced as a Jailbreak Tool to work with iPad. Later on, it turned into a Framework as there are different versions of Greenpois0n. Have a Look at p0sixninja’s blog

I had waited Chronic Dev Team for more than half of the year before SpiritJB, I dont want to have a fake hope again for my iPad.

    • I am sure that this time it won’t be fake. Cheers

  • Jory Anderson

Guys calm down its coming in 3 days – 2 weeks. Theres a clue about my ETA. The website went up with nothing but their logo. That possibly means they’re putting there finishing touches on it so hold on to your pants.

5 iPads waiting to be Jailbreaked. They are useless without Cydia 🙁
